My daughter is in South America for 6 months - various countries. What is the best recommendation for staying in touch. We have Skype and Viber. ?Any calling card recommendations or ? a local SiM? Your best advice gratefully received.

For simplicity and ease, Definitely by Skype, using free call if she is online, or Skype credit if you need to ring a landline or her mobile. Skype credit has pretty good rates.
