Can anyone suggest a good way to research rtw fares?
I am currently looking for rtw3 j with Europe as 2nd continent. Syd/lon/nyc/syd (example).
Easy enough to put in multi-city but does not show some rtw fares that I believe are available such as with with LX, FY and OS.
Later in the year I would like to find an rtw4.
Regards

You generally need to use a travel agent to book one of these.

Perhaps you might like to try contacting Australia's Round The World Airfare Specialist
Or if you have a specific type of RTW ticket in mind, you could try asking on the relevant AFF thread. Such as this one for the Lufthansa Group fare:

If you want to book a Oneworld Explorer or Star Alliance RTW fare, you can plan and book those on the Oneworld or Star Alliance websites. (Although, the Oneworld Explorer tool is currently not showing QF or JL flights - which is a bit annoying.)

For any type of RTW I think a Travel Agent (not on-line and not Flight Centre) is a must-have. It'll save you hours of looking at and pricing various combinations, and if you DIY, even then you'll not know if there was a better way, or a better fare combo etc. Certain ones can minimise taxes and airline fees as well and mine has a standing 'corporate' discount with QR. Can usually deal with .married segment' issues (because they can call the airline directly and request exceptions).

As MattG said, the LY and AY ones are only book-able through a TA, and here the TAs can also help in optimising. Although, for my up-coming Europe trip, which began as looking at a LH 'RTW', ended up with just a SQ return fare, codeshares with JH and LX as it was cheaper and more flexible when combined with some intra-Europe flights I wanted.

And, the usual benefits with booking through a TA - if flights get changed, they deal with it, a God-send if you have started your trip.

These days they will probably charge a fee, as commissions have been slashed, but well worth it, in my view.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thank you for your guidance.
I have sent my requirements to the suggested agent.
@Mattg I have renewed my membership 🙂 a couple of days ago - did not realised it had lapsed - sorry.
