Best oneworld First lounges - HKG, SIN, LHR

I'm in the Changi F lounge now and was offered a toasted sandwich. Doesn't seem to be any hot food on display.

The Sin lounge does have a cursory hot food offer. The staff do come round with hot dishes, wontons, satay etc, and there can be a hot dish out or pizza slices etc. It is, however, short of an F offer by a country mile. Contrast the SQ J lounge at Sin where there is a dedicated buffet section with at least 8 hot dishes to choose from.

Toasted sandwishes AM later in day into evening as Canny man states.

I wasn't offered any thing last week at around the same time :(

Thanks,

ex LHR and SIN are QF flights, so the QF lounges are liekly to be busy...

ex HKG im on the BA evening flights (around 2330)

Tried the Cabin today in HKG (was right next to my gate) - very nice but extremely busy. I will try the Wing J and Pier F next week.

Also tried my luck at CCR T5 just because i had time to kill. And directed back to Galleries F :) about to see whetger Bollinger Rose is on or not...

Of the lounges at HKG, my preference is for The Cabin - though that doesn't take in to account the recent renovations at the other CX lounges. I found The Wing to be lacking in atmosphere (the restaurant is particularly dull) and The Pier to be like a dungeon. The Cabin at least has some style and atmosphere, plus there's a view out to the tarmac - just a real pity that there aren't any showers there.

None of the CX F lounges are "bad" as such, just that they're no comparison to the QF F lounges at SYD and MEL. Looking forward to reading reports about the lounges post-renovation!

I definitely liked the BA First Lounge at LHR T5. Had more than enough choices of food and drink.

In HKG any of the lounges are quite acceptable. I am the type of person who prefers to either make my own drink or get one at the bar. I do not like to be told to sit down and the drink will be delivered. The bar in the Cabin is quite nice and so is the salmon but I have to go back 5-6 times as they only put a small amount on the plate. If you have time visit all the lounges to form your own opinion.

In SIN I have a preference for the Skyview lounge as I believe it has more variety than the Qantas lounges. I really do not like being in the Qantas Business Lounge in the evenings when everyone of the desktops is occupied with unsupervised kids while their parents load up before the flight.

And that is a situation made worse now with QF2 A388 going through SIN at the evening time slot, replacing the QF32 which used to leave in the morning.

So if we're flying through SIN on QF1 this weekend and we are WP, then our options are the closer but not so great SIN F Lounge or the CX Skyview Lounge, right?

What is the difference in walking times between the two of them? I see them both on the SIN airport maps - is there an extra 5 minutes or so walking to get the to the CX Lounge? As I was unhappy at the QF F Lounge last time, I'd be interested in trying the CX one if it's not too far. Advice on walking times from QF1 would be gratefully received!

About an extra 5 mins walk will get you there. It's not all that special either though.

I believe access to Skyview is for CX passengers in F/J or OWE/OWS - not sure you will be able to access as WP on QF. They do take Priority Pass though. (Skyview is vastly superior to the QF offerings at SIN which have all the atmosphere of a school library)

The SIN Skyview lounge is absolutely available for oneworld Emeralds and Sapphires if flying oneworld. (Although they often tell QF elites where the QF lounges are.)

Should be able to use either lounge. In my recent transit through SIN I found the Skyview lounge had more choice of hot food available and was not as crowded.

There is only ~5 minutes walking distance between the 2 lounges.

As for the C gates I think the furthest C gates are ~10-15 minutes walk from the QF Lounges and ~5 minutes further from Skyview Lounge.

Thanks everyone - given I'm not thrilled with the QF SIN F Lounge, I'll try Skyview if there is enough time.

I'll be right behind you! I'm transiting SIN on Mon, arrive on CX with a 3 hour layover before QF2. Will definitely check out the other lounge options as the QF lounge sounds pretty grim at present. If all else fails I'll go for a swim :D

Am I correct in saying that a PS travelling in J, PER-SIN-LHR has access to the SIN QF First lounge?

I see you point that is what it says on QF website, this must be fairly recent?

Appears to contradict OneWorld website
