This may or may not have been answered and I have looked far and wide with no luck, but does anyone have any opinions on best/worst of the 36 J seats on the int. A330-200?

Seatguru has no "good/some drawback/poor seat" comments for any J seats and the only concerns I have are that sitting too close up front you may get Lav/bar traffic, and rear seats too close to Y and getting noise from there also.

Prefer window as Mrs_Tyro loves a view:shock: and although not too fussy on the SYD-AKL leg (pre-selected 5J&K), would like to get it right on the AKL-LAX in regards to privacy and a nice quiet flight (pre-selected 1A&B). Currently there are only 7 seats allocated, including our own, so still plenty of choice.
So does anyone have experience with these flights that they'd like to share?:)
Cheers
Dom

No issue with noise for us in 1A/B overnight flight SIN-BNE.

YMMV.

Beware that its a split cabin (as you've probably seen on the seat map) and both's lav's are at the very front, while private as row 1 is, keep in mind there's 5rows behind you that maybe walking past to the Lav's. I liked row 4 or 2 personally.

I also personally prefer row 2 because in row 1 you can hear the toilet flush.

Also I prefer the starboard side of the plane (J/K) as you get less foot traffic up and down the aisle.

Given we slept most of the flight, traffic wasnt an issue.

I find row 11JK (upstairs bassinet row) in the 744 worse for "traffic" as the floor wobbles + noise from toilet seems worse.

Row 2 (one of the middle seats) worked fine for me...cannot comment on other seats. My view may be jaundiced a little as I had an empty seat next to me.

I've always gone for the middle seats halfway down as the noise is less and foot traffic lower. I prefer to have the screen in the back of the seat too (and storage compartments).

We had 2A&B to AKL last week. On aircraft Hunter Valley? found the seats in row 2 well used and a little worn. not issues with noise etc. row 1 i noticed had light from the lav but didnt think there was any noise. i think would have prefered row 4 in the second cabin but row 6 is just in from of econ.

Thanks for all the input guys:)

This all certainly helps make a more informed decision on our seating and from the sounds of it I will be changing seats a little further back from 1AB.
This will help to keep Mrs_Tyro happy and content on the trip over which in turn will provide me with some much needed credit in the bank of "Things I do for you and the lengths I will go to".

With 7 weeks OS coming, I am certainly going to need to make some withdrawls that would normally be met with blank  stares and "do you have to's", such as a mini hold-em tournament at the Bicycle Casino or a boys night out at a bar with my in-laws:D. How could she say no after all the time I've taken to get her the best seat in the house:?: ;)

May your pots be monsters. :)
