Best J from ZRH to SYD

My mother in law is coming in November. She is near Zurich and we are in Sydney. I looked up J from ZRH to SYD and found two: Emirates and Singapore. Both have a combination which uses A380 on the longer flights, both have lie flat seats and both have convenient times and fast connections. Emirates is cheaper than Singapore, but this isn't a deciding factor. She isn't a FF on any program and won't be... She's not into the communal bar areas.

The question: what would be the easiest, nicest flight over from ZRH? Is Dubai a more difficult airport to connect in than Singapore? I am leaning towards Singapore as I have heard great things (I've never flown on either), and the seats look very spacious. However, I am happy to hear thoughts and if there are other options.

If price isn't a consideration then I would go SQ. Singapore airport isn't as mad as DXB.

Get her to enrole in Krisflyer anyway as you will be able to book flights from her points for other family members.

I'll be watching this thread closely. I'm planning a trip to ZRH in November/December.

Was thinking of flying QF to LHR and then BA to ZRH. But looking forward to some other ideas.

Writing from experience here. If money is not the issue, then Singapore Airline's A380 out of ZRH connect with A380 to Sydney. Reason, 34 inch wide flat bed! When you travel in that end of the plane, IFE, Food are really secondary. The best IFE is a good comfortable sleep!! For mature person, access to big clean toilet is a must, due to the "lack of control". Be sure to put your mother into the mini-cabin from 11 to 15, she will have easy access to 3 toilets. My partner and I both suffer old-age related flow issue, be able to dash into one of those toilet quickly without queue is GOD SEND.

Further, Changi Airport is a breeze to use. You can always ask her to pick up some cheap booze for you. Just make sure, she doesn't miss her flight due to excessive shopping! Or if she has time, take a free tour into Singapore and do more damage to your inheritance. (Again, Singapore may be small, but for a shopaholic it is dangerous place to be!)

There is nothing wrong with Dubai or Emirates... Singapore is just better. For male person, how can you say 'No' to Singapore Girls on their knees serving you Bolly!?

Edit: Be warned, Singapore Airline's "not-so-new" Business seats are not comfortable to sit in. You need lots of pillows for lumber support. They are best used as a bed (with or without Singapore Girls....).
