So many in Singapore, Parkroyal on Pickering and Fullerton are stand outs for me, recently stayed at Carlton but wasn’t overly impressed by food selection. Heading to Intercontinental in July, good to note someone gave this a good wrap on here

Tried the Carlton Singapore and the whole experience was very underwhelming. Quite a let-down. I won't be back.

In fairness, the Carlton is definitely a class below the Fullerton, especially in price. I have never stayed but believe it isn't too bad for what you can pay (when on sale etc)?

Point taken, although it was sold to me as 5 star and it wasn't on sale. I will do more research next time!

Unfortunately half the hotels in Singapore are 5 star. I think it means that they have certain amenities.
What you really need is a site that tells you what their service and soft product are truly like to make it easier to compare. Or a 6th and 7th star...
I.e. Carlton, Hilton, Conrad, Fullerton and the MO there are all 5 stars, but they have hugely different service levels (probably about in the order I've posted actually!)

Langham Hotel - Mong Kok - Hong Kong
InterContinental - West Lake - Hanoi

Both have excellent food, champagne & all sorts of coughtails

Like in most hotel chains, you’ll need to book club room or higher to get lounge access if one doesn’t hold status at that chain.

Some of the Clubs come to mind are Grand Hyatt Beijing food & service... Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.. food,view.. & Runart Champagne the Club pour all day!!...and the Service, Cavalieri Rome King Imperial Rome View....going to try Shangri-La & Ritz-Carlton both in Singapore in April,Oh!! I forgot Crown Towers Melbourne probable the best of the lot for everything.
And one more, This is right up there Shangri-La Valley Wing Lounge...Champagne [Veuve] 11:00 to 22:30 + Cognac [XO] Very Smart Red & White Wine, top Spirits and Service to match.. I think this is IT!!

Looking at heading to Singapore in February, wondering if anyone has ever stayed at the Marriott Tang plaza, this seems to have a nice (refurbished) lounge, and is one of the few in Singapore (the other is JW Marriott south beach Singapore) that has a four hour coughtail "hour" instead of two hours, can anyone comment on what the drinks/food was like.
I'm traveling in a group of three and am Marriott gold, but would be booking a "club" room anyway (most likely junior suite) as the gold level has droppped lounge access, so am willing to go to a new hotel chain. Only other one we like at the moment is the IC Singapore (premier suite)

We stayed 6 weeks ago at the Tang plaza.Lounge was nearly empty.OK food and wine but no where near outstanding.
Service levels poor so we would not go back.

We decided against the tang plaza on your advice, and stayed at the IC Singapore, fantastic hotel and a really good lounge. We got ambassador and we're upraded to a very nice suite. The service was great and food options changed daily.

I had a great experience recently at the Westin Perth club lounge. I didn't have any alcoholic drinks but there was plenty of food and very good quality.

Novotel Da Nang had a very good EL.
One of the best buffets I’ve had for afternoon tea with several delicious hot food options aswell as seafood, cheeses and salads. Several deserts and a good drinks range. Great views and a nice large lounge that was peaceful

For mine - in order:

RC Tokyo - fantastic service and all day high quality F & B
RC Hong Kong - amazing views and all day F & B
Hotel Icon HK - strong service culture with good quality F & B (make a very good Martini)
RC Singapore - strong F & B all day plus one of the best Marina Bay views
IC Sydney - amazing view wraparound balcony with snacks included all day - good coughtail 2 hours.
IC Perth - level of service is exceptional with good F & B
