Hi everyone,

My partner and I have flights booked from SYD to JFK next month. We have already requested an upgrade with QFF points to Business. We are currently flying out on a Tuesday but I was thinking of bringing that forward a day.

Do we have a better chance of getting the upgrade on a Monday or Tuesday? I know you will be able to shed some light on this for me.

Thanks

Welcome to AFF :D

You could check the loadings on your target flight; it is possible to check loadings yourself.

There is a complimentary service/facility available using "FLIGHTSTATS".

The URL is here: Flight Availability By Route. Click on click the

's beside each flight option to get fare bucket availability. (Note that Flightstats does not always categorise a fare bucket in it's correct class - this varies with the airline)

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings: Understanding Expert Flyer

For a Qantas points upgrades look for mid to high D and I class for Business. The highr the number the better. Of course, even with this there are no gaurantees.

I have a pretty basic question. I have been to Flight stats (thanks for that site serfty), and have a query about a couple of flights I have requested for upgrade on PER-SIN_PER in August. The flight stats for the flight over who 4 U class available bot none on my return leg. (QF) Qantas 78, .......my question being, for an upgrade what classes do they take into consideration? Is it just U or do the other classes become available of not sold?

For a Qantas points upgrades look for mid to high D and I class for Business. The highr the number the better. Of course, even with this there are no guarantees.

So, if my next flight, for which I have applied for a J points upgrade, currently reports "J/7 C/6 D/4 I/0 U/0", my chances are probably fairly slim?
