Having just done 10 weeks RTW, Bose QC15 = probably the best tech investment I've ever made. Even comfortable enough to wear whilst sleeping.....

Best
The plain old 8 socket power board with just one adapter. Can run all the electrics for the family with only one adapter.
Even when travelling domestic, the power board is an essential item.

WORST - eons ago I bought a travel iron . . . don't know what possessed me..!!!!!![]()
I enjoy catching up on TV shows on my iPad on long haul flights (a good season's worth can make passing the time on long haul flights so much more enjoyable). I did find trying to watch Game of Thrones on the plane a little awkward though...
Best purchases:
Sony MDR-NC500D headphones (just need adaptor for CX plug..anyone know where I can get one), and I have some Sony MDR-NC300D in-ear for shorter trips when I don't have bag space for the fairly bulky 500D hard case, plus I can tolerate the "in ears"for much less time...not sure I could stand falling asleep with them in either.
Obviously you guys are too young to remember, but the large CX jack you refer to is a standard 6.5mm stereo headphone jack - yes - Jaycar sell them, among other places - most places that sell real component sound systems will have them as well as many Amps still have 6.5mm jacks.CX's phono plug (like a 3.5mm plug but much larger?) Jayycar sell them.

Stoopidstev - I am pretty sure I have a few spares - PM me if you want one
