Last 12 months have been churning - 6 new cards since Feb, and currently holding 10 or so...
Not sure what makes me different - but whatever it is - Maquarie wont touch me with a 10 foot stick
I wouldn't call it 'churning' if you currently hold 10 or more cards.

Well - -
Have cancelled 10 in the last 12 months - just waiting for some points to come through and 5 more destined for the bin :)
Only keep my CBA for the mortgage, and plat charge, reserve, edge - and will keep one of the mastercards - either ANZ, Westpac or St George - they all have their positives - 1 point per$ vs getting points for gov spend..

Had my app rejected.

I called them for a pls explain and they said too many applications on my file

Oh well

Took the bank eight business days to assess and decline my application (despite applying for only one other card this year)... total waste of time.

I was tempted with this for next churn, 80k for $150 is pretty good. Then reading this thread puts me off a bit. Has anyone with a card flipping history been approved? Seems like I may be wasting my time and a hit to the credit file on this one?

Good question. I have started the on-line application, but decided to hold off as I’m a bit hesitant with proceeding, based on what others have reported, here.

This was my 6th application in the last 4 months and somehow I managed to get approved. Took a while to get approval and I was a surprised I managed to pull it off after hearing about the number of declines.

Without being too nosy... do you have many open cards at the moment? and what sort of income bracket are we talking?

I'm tossing up applying, but I've already done three applications this year and don't want to waste another if they're being difficult.

I got 5 cards open atm but will be closing 4 down once I get the bonus points which will leave me the Bendigo.
Ball park income is a bit over six figures.
My credit score has taken a bit of a hit but even that has started creeping back up again.

Well I guess if you been through all the other cards with no fees then this is a good option if there is nothing else worth going for. I didn’t even get a call from them, just got a text message saying my application has been approved.

Thanks. Sounds pretty similar to me so I might give it a go. I find the low to mid 100k bracket in an employed position (ie not self employed) does seem to be the sweet spot for these churning opportunities.

Better half applied for this tonight. Their income on paper isn't great (roughly 45k plus 15k from rental income). Conditionally approved online and just sent to a portal to upload payslips and proof of rental income. Two other credit applications this year.

Has anyone with a card flipping history been approved?

This is my 6th application this year (8 last year), credit score in 600s and I got approved instantly (I applied on the first day of the promo).

I found the process to be quite smooth. I've reached the $2500 so hoping the points come quickly, though from what I've read about BB I'm bracing myself for a long running saga.

I'm much luckier than you. I entered my home loan, then my credit cards, then the web site stopped me from going any further, saying I failed servicability.

All that I have is a Citi free for life $15000 limit and a Bankwest $6000 limit. They must be tight. or the royal commission?

Put an application in for myself. Got this message;

Thank you for your application. Unfortunately we are unable to legally identify you electronically.

A little unexpected... we'll see what comes from that.

Called the customer service number and the lady I spoke to seemed to have absolutley no idea what it meant, and tried to send me to a branch. After a bit of pushing, she agreed to email the credit card team and CC the branch. Seemed a bit simple and didn't really understand what she was doing (and said she couldn't find the application).

Dare say this one won't go well.

Ok some progress. After a social media request, somebody called me this afternoon to verify some details. Basically said it was all correct (they thought my drivers licence number might have been wrong or something) and they have no idea why it wasn't identifying me. Said to go into a branch and fill out a paper application.

Haven't got the time to do that, so I thought I'd try the online process over again but use my passport and medicare card. That seemed to work and it came up "conditionally approved" and sent me to a portal to upload payslips. There hasn't been a ping on my credit file as yet (that I have been notified of anyway).

For those who had issues with questions about previous card applications etc etc, did you get to this "conditional approval" stage? Or did they interrogate you prior to that?

Better half had the same result and uploaded payslips on Monday, but haven't heard or seen an update as yet.

I was interrogated after the conditional approval stage. If you make it past this stage, expect a phone call with queries about your previous card applications in the last 12-months.

On another matter, I didn't receive any points after my first statement and had to call them to register my QF number (despite inputting it at the time of application). Something tells me I'm at the start of a very long labour of love with this mob....
