Why not just buy it online from the teams direct? The major league baseball team in Chicago and Boston are:

Chicago White Sox: Chicago White Sox Tickets | whitesox.com: Tickets
Chicago Cubs: Chicago Cubs Tickets | cubs.com: Tickets
Boston Red Sox: Boston Red Sox Tickets | redsox.com: Tickets

Now that brings back memories when I watch the White Sox vs Red Sox at Chicago about 6 years ago ... White Sox won.

Thanks for the links to baseball.I am going to the US with the whole tribe of 5 so scalped tickets are either lousy seats or pretty hexy.

Try ebay as well, used this for a Seattle/Angels game 2 yrs ago, got tickets 9 rows behind the dugout for just over face value, bought day before the game.

Coast to coast is another group I have used, got tickets to Rockies/Giants Fireworks/4th July a few years ago, excellent seats, from memory 20-25% over face value, again, seats behind the dugout.

Tickets to major league baseball are neither difficult to obtain, as a general rule, nor very expensive. It's all supply and demand. They play so many games (162 before the play-offs start) that they simply cannot fill the stadiums that many times. There are exceptions, of course, but many (most?) games are only half full. It's not like the MCG in September. Don't even think of buying from the scalpers. Buy beforehand from the web-sites of the teams, or buy at the gate.

Depending on the teams. For Red Sox's home game it is always a sellout so I suggest you try the White Sox and the Cubs games ....

There are a few games in Boston that haven't sold out.

Go to 2009 Red Sox Schedule | redsox.com: Schedule and look at the red coloured dates (home games) with the "T" icon (click on the "T" to buy a ticket).

I'll actually be at the games in Boston (v Kansas City) on July 9, 10 & 11.

I've also bought a ticket to the All Star game at a massively inflated price through Stub Hub. I wont get the physical ticket until July (after I've left... it's being delivered to my hotel in St Louis.... another grossly inflated price).

There seems to be tickets available to White Sox games 2009 White Sox Schedule | whitesox.com: Schedule (although July 17 looks like one to miss... it's Mullet Night!) and Cubs games 2009 White Sox Schedule | whitesox.com: Schedule

You should receive your ticket as a PDF file which you take to the ground (similar to here).
