It should be extended to Pollys, and auditors (;)) as well...

While they are at it, include reporters (except Nat Barr) to fly HOLD CLASS only :)

Mr!

On a more serious topic there are two sides to this. First - what a rort that they were flying J on short haul!

However we all know that J fares subsidise whY fares and bankers/business are a large market for J fares. So not only does this put the carriers at risk through reduced margins but it puts whY paying pax at risk of higher fares as airlines claw back revenue.

As much as schadenfreude is a hoot - people might not be so happy when this comes to bite them on the whY fare paying a$$.

My company once gave me tickets to london in business class I was really excited as I've never flown business before, I was given the tickets. A week later I was asked for the tickets back as they were down grading me to economy! The nerve, am I not an important member of staff, am I not going there on business?

I know in my govt dept, DOM is always in Y except for the CEO who goes in J, Anyone travelling with the CEO may get put in J too.

Overseas people always seem to go in J (except NZ).

Well, the bankers that I know will take their flexible Y ticket and upgrade to J with their own money. I would.

I am relocating to Asia at the end of this year, and have been looking forward to the J class flight there. I hope my bank won't ask me to change my seat class to whY!

Well actually, changing from J to whY is better that changing from employed to unemployed.... :-|

I never understood the reasoning of flying anyone business class on short haul routes like SYD-MEL, SYD-BNE, MEL-BNE etc. Many companies, like Kmart, fly on best fare of the day and this includes executives,
