According to EF my CX flight from BKK on Sunday has been cancelled for the second time on this booking.
It's still showing as confirmed on 'Manage Booking'.
I expect they'll notify me eventually.

Not totally sure (my friend just gave me a quick rundown as we watched the military news brief which included the ok for people to carry firearms if involved with depositing cash into banks at night and moving product overnight as well), but it's possible they're happy with the situation as it stands, and feel that shortening the curfew is a positive step forward.

Great news for the restaurants and workers who have had to lose hours (and pay) due to the early closing of department stores, cabarets etc and and for all the street vendors; now to get out and enjoy some street food again!! :mrgreen:

I believe certain well connected (ie read military/yellow shirts) people own much of the nightlife establishments,
so no surprise there

Has anyone travelled into Silom area from the airport after a 1.30am arrival? Any problem with taxis? military? police?

In my opinion tourist numbers we well down the first couple of weeks in June. Most tour groups had cancelled which was good for me but not good for the Thai tourist industry..

Have things returned to normal since the curfew was lifted? I realise it is low season but these types of disruptions can influence people's future travel plans.

We arrived 2 weeks ago for a 6 night stay.Certainly less tourists still.
At the Siam Centre there were lots of military in groups of 2-6.
The staff at the SGS were working less days-but no one losing a job.

We left BKK on 25th June after more than two weeks there. Everything was fine. Less tourists in MBK so shopping was a breeze. Notice that Jim Thompson's house now offers silk spinning from cocoons demonstration and a regular traditional Thai dancing demonstration. An innovation since I was last there 3 years ago. Noticed small groups of soldiers and police at Siam skytrain area but not obtrusive and happy to pose for photos for tourists which was surprising.
Take your brolly for those sudden afternoon or evening downpours. Really strange, heavy rain and it is still warm. JoyV

At least it wasn't like the end of March 3-4 years ago with heavy rain but freezing. I thought hell was about to freeze over.
