There appears to be an Associated Lounge there, not a Qantas lounge.

Since it's not their lounge (or airport), it's not entirely their fault. But I agree, if it's as bad as you say, QF/BA should do something about accommodating their J/elite pax in better facilities.

Believe me though, I have been in some ****ty 'lounges', so your 'worst in the world' tag intrigues me. ;)

I think this is supposed to be the Manila Lounge which is a pay as you go lounge (US$11?) and free for Diners club members.

I found the whiskey bar at JL F Lounge at NRT is enough to make a significant difference in my view. And the buffet dining at MH F Lounge at KUL sets it significantly ahead of the J lounge next door. Its as good as The Haven at CX F Lounge at HKG as far as dining is concerned. And I find the waiter dining experience and food quality at QF F Lounge in SYD and MEL is a significant difference to the J lounges at the same airports. So you, it would seem MMV.
NM, you'd know better than moi. I don't drink alcohol and thus never notice the selections. I also rarely eat in F lounges, as I prefer to eat inflight for 3 reasons: 1. Previously I've found the food better in air 2. I try to eat at destination meal times, and usually this occurs when I'm on board 3. I find it easier to sleep en route after a meal.

As a matter of curiosity, have you been to the TG BKK F or LF FRA F lounges?

I find the QF F lounge food far superior to the F and J food - mostly as I think it isn't designed by Neil Perry :)

For me, most times the food is better in the lounge than in the air. More likely I am going to be in Y than F these days. So eating in the lounge is likely to be my preference.

No, I have visited either but have had some very good reviews, especially about FRA First Class Terminal.
