Saturday morning and the start of a very quiet day. breakfast.

The Chinese were there again and once more ordered one of everything on the menu. It was interesting watching the fellow eat his runny poached egg with chopsticks.
Mrsdrron had scrambled eggs.
IMG_1013.jpg

And because I could I had Pad thai.
IMG_1014.jpg

Had a nice long nanny nap after breakfast, So the next big thing in the day was the evening nibbles. Again all the people from the night before were there.
IMG_1015.jpg

I didn't have the soup but did have all the other dishes.
Duck Breast.
IMG_1020.jpg

Paneer.
IMG_1022.jpg

And the snapper with red curry.
IMG_1023.jpg

Plus a couple of plates from the buffet. My first.
IMG_1021.jpg

Sunday and time to leave. We ordered our transfer with Exclusive transfers for 8.30 am so went to breakfast at 0700.

A bit of a heart stopping moment as our safe wouldn't open so we called for help. I decided to have one more try and naturally it opened just as the maintenance woman walked in the door. It had been slow on a couple of other occasions so probably needed a new battery.

We went downstairs to check out and at 8.10 just as I finished that our car arrived. He went a back way and entered the freeway just before the congestion broke up so arrived at the airport at 8.40. We had checked in online but I wasn't confident with the Thai security check as my phone likes to tun everything sideways. So stopped at checkin to see if we could get a physical BP but were told it couldn't be done until 9.30. So went to the premium security line.
Just as I feared my phone played up so after 2 failed attempts I gave it to the agent and of course she was successful. At security I had to wait for a secondary exam as we had a can of Eucalyptus oil which looks large but is 60 grams and 100ml so not over the limit.
Immigration was quick so after mrsdrron went through the Thai gift shops we were in the SQ lounge.

Now our flight was at 12.15 so I thought we would only have a choice of breakfast items but at 10.30 thhey put out lunch items so I had a small plate of Som tum, massaman chicken and pork with cashews.
IMG_1027.jpg

We left the lounge early as the Gate was quite a distance from the lounge nd I no longer can walk fast.
So the flights home to come.

SQ 707 left BKK one minute early at 12.14. We arrived into SIN 10 minutes early at 3.30pm. The crew were not as good as usual but not bad. This was a lunch time flight so here are the wines and menu.

IMG_1032.jpg

Mrsdrron had the chicken breast and the Austrian white which she enjoyed. The chicken though she thought was the worst meal she has had on SQ.
IMG_1033-001.jpg

I had the Panang moo which was enjoyable with some extra sambal. I had the French red which was reasonable.
IMG_1034-001.jpg

Not a long flight- just on 2 hours. I caught up with emails whilst listening to the best of Queen. When that finished there was a button for similiar so I pressed that and found there were 3 other Queen albums which I thought I wold listen to on the flight to BNE. Not long left when the Queen album finished so I listened to a bit of AC/DC. Nothing out of the ordinary in flight though the landing was a bit bumpy.

Normally our flights from BKK come into Terminal 2 so I was happy that today it was Terminal 3. My mood changed when I realised that we were at the furthest gate from the Immigration hall. Fortunately my legs behaved and I walked the distance without a stop. Was then able to walk the slightly longer walk back to the CP. Great walking straight from Immigration to the Green customs panel and exit.

checked in by the lounge Manager who said that the place was virtually full all week so we were given floor 5. Not a problem as the room was
exactly the same as the higher floors. I was given 2 lots of points as the Welcome amenity.

%.30 and back to the lounge. Neither of us was very hungry but I did enjoy my laksa.
IMG_1035-001.jpg

Had a couple of slices of pizza, a G&T and a couple of glasses of Cabernet. Slept like a log. Had booked a 6am wake up call in case we slept in. The wake up call came just on a minute after I woke.

We checked out in the lounge just before 7am. We decided to have breakfast in the T3 SKL. A couple of coffees and some dim sum. The place was packed. Though there were solo passengers on lounges that could seat 5-6 people. Right at the entrance there were 2 lots of 2 seats. An older Australian couple were sitting in 2 and their bags in the other 2.
We left the lounge well before boarding. Our flight though left from Terminal and once more at the furthest gate from where the train came in. A train left just as we got there so i decided to sit. I aimed for the seat nut my left buttock hit the arm rest fairly hard. No pain initially just a big egg. Since I have been home it is quite sore but not stopping me walking. In fact since being home I am easily hitting my target of 10000 steps a day.as the next train came in the couple who believed in putting their bags on seats arrived and pushed up to the door. Fortunately they went to the right side of the doors but the seats are on the left side so I got Mrsdrron to go as close to the left as she could and get a pair of seats. She succeeded. When I took the second seat you should have seen the glare I got from Mrs seats are for bags. I grinned widely.

After the long walk to the gate thre was a long line at security. This is the reason I don't like Changi. As usual pat down but the fellow wanded my right knee first which confirmed my story so one of the quickest wandings I have had. Mrsdron ha to cope with explaing our 100ml spray can.

Boarding had already started and a couple of families with kids. Finally I had cracked so joined the pre boarding queue. With my gait there was no challenge and through we went. I still got passed by a few J pax including the "glarer".

On this flight I had a wonderful FA. She was giving out juices as te PDB but when she got to me she said you look like you culd do with a glass of champagne. I agreed.

So to the wines and menu.

The meal started off with the satays. I never tire of this.
IMG_1048.jpg

Next came the seared tuna loin. I like the dish but it appears a little too often on our flights.
IMG_1049.jpg

As that was served the FA started to pour my ed wine. Just as we did a brief moment of turbulence. My tuna loin was now swimming in red wide and my side table had a fair coating as well. my tuna was taken away and the sib=de table cleaned though some evidence was left.
IMG_1050.jpg

Amazingly there was not a single drop on me or my clothes.
We used BTC and we both had lobster Thermidor. this time pretty nice.
IMG_1051.jpg

I had both the fruit and ice cream for dessert.
IMG_1052.jpg

I declined the refreshment. I have had enough of the carrot cake.. Mrsdrron tried the porridge but didn't like it.
IMG_1053.jpg

I spent the time on the internet and listening to the other 3 Queen albums -Live at Wembley Stadium, Bohemian Rhapsody and Sheer Heart attack. Would have loved to be at the Wembley Concert.
We gotinto Brisbane 25 minutes early. Obviously most in the main J cabin were not used to arriving in BNE on SQ. They don't use the font door but the second so I was the only one who headed to the second door. The first row in the second J cabin was a family with young chidren so I ended up first of the plane. But again about the furthest from Immigration so several passed me. Most stopped at Duty Free so I was number 7 to the gates. Not that it did me any good as my face once again was not recognised. As no one else there the manual check was quick. One person beat Mrsdrron and I out through customs. So very soon in the limo and off home.

Only 5 weeks to wait for the next trip. It wasn't planned but one day I was looking at lifemiles and the TG SYD-BKK in J came up again. Then found I could add on a side trip to HKG and back wit TG via life miles. See you then.
