Hi All.

Does anyone know if (and where) QF offer any sort of short term baggage storage service / lockers at SYD T3 ?

I've a very early Sydney arrival in a few weeks and wanted to store some checked baggage for an hour or two while I duck back into the QP to freshen up and grab some breakfast.

QF and Sydney Airport websites seem to suggest storage of some sort may be available but don't they go into any detail from what I can see.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can shed light on availability, location, cost etc.

Ground Floor / Baggage Claim. Tucked into the corner near carousel 5. Source: Fly - At the Airport - Airport Guide - Sydney Domestic Airport (T3)

Operated by SmarteCarte. Prices start at $10 when I last used the service.

You'll need to ring a bell or pick up a phone if no one is there at the window, or the window rollerdoor is lowered. Don't be surprised if it takes 15 or more-ish minutes for someone to attend to you.

You'll hand over your luggage and they'll give you a ticket. Don't lose the ticket or you'll go through hell to get your bags back (not my experience, but that's my guess of what will happen).

There are no self-serve storage solutions if that is what you are looking for. Or at least that I am aware of.

Thanks for sharing that anat0l. Might have to suck it and see.

Welcome hearing of any other experiences.

anat0l is right, that is option A, option B is to take them with you.

option C is too leave it on the carousel while your in the QP, been there done that, got the clal an hour later!

A little risky...

I've used the baggage storage at T3 before, $10 sound about what I paid.

I had no real complaints with the service, just make sure you give yourself loads of time to drop bags off and pick them up again (don't turn up at the airport with only minutes until boarding, you will probably miss your flight). I ended up waiting around for about 15 minutes to be served when I came to pick up my bags (after using the phone on the wall to call someone over).

Ha, so those times I see a single lonely bag on a carousel with noone in sight I know you've gone for a beer.

I often wondered why a single bag might doing sighseeing tours of the baggage claim hall.

You might return to the bomb squad doing tests on your bag though these days ;)

or just as likely to find no bag and later walk past someone wearing your shirt.

Why, chances are its already been Xray'd. It was only a year ago, the boss wanted a quick chat in the QP and I lost track of the time. I dont make it a habit, mind you with the last trip QF lost the same bag twice and I am sure there was no bomb squad checking it out at Horn Island or CBR.

Smartcarte also operate the service at MEL, and I can highly recommend them. If the area is unattended, someone's down there within 2min of picking up the phone.

They're also pretty good about multiple bags. If you can find a way to attach two bags together they'll treat it as one.
