Hi All,
Thought I'd ask on here because I'm getting contradicting information from different places. I'm booked on JQ35 from MEL-DPS with a 2H15M transfer onto EK399 from DPS-DXB. Jetstar's website claims that baggage will be transferred for "connecting international Jetstar flights and flights with our partner airlines (see list below), where both international flights were purchased on the same booking". But, when I call both Qantas who I made the booking through (Classic Rewards) and Jetstar, they both state that I will have to enter Indonesia and recheck the baggage. Seems way too tight, especially when the average departure delay for JQ35 is 30 minutes. Has anyone had experience with this connection before or know anything about Jetstar/Emirates connections. I need to make sure I get on the EK flight because I have a separate booking departing DXB 8 hours after I land. All responses are much appreciated.

I think it will be done, all in same booking, and Jetstar check baggage through to other carriers at DPS and do check through to EK. There is a transfer counter before immigration to go to to verify your luggage tag with. I guess EK are present at the counter when expecting pax.

Phone agents have as much clue about airport checking in arrangements as the average person on the street. I’d trust the website over the phone agents.

That's what I'm hoping. I even quoted the website which the Qantas agent proceeded to dispute. I'm guessing check in staff at MEL will be able to tag me all the way through to DXB and once that's done I'll feel more confident.
