I was at qantas check in and hassled by this checkin crew. I am oneworld gold(cx) and he insisted I can only check in 1 piece rather than 2 pieces as stated on website. Not to mentioned he asked me to repack my luggage as i was 1 kg over! They say we dun get privilege for other carrier for qantas flights. Is this true? If it is not then I will make a formal complain. If I am wrong then I will write to qantas team to change their wording as it is misleading. I initially wanted to credit the flight to qff and this also mess up by him as he entered my Cx number in. I also noted this cx number doesn't show up my oneworld status on boarding pass, is this normal ?

baggage allowance bonuses for frequent flyers only apply on the carrier that you hold the FF membership with.

so CX will not get bonus on Qantas. QF won't get bonus on CX.

skyteam and *A both have alliance aligned baggage bonus. one world does not.

As above, OneWorld gives you priority check-in, but not extra baggage allowances. If you want that, you should head over to Star Alliance.

However, as you’re a QF Silver you should have been entitled to 1 piece at 32kg, instead of 2 at 23kg (in economy).

With your MPC Gold you could try asking the staff in the lounge to remove your MPC number and add your QFF one.

Additionally, their baggage page does not appear to be misleading at all, it doesn’t mention OneWorld, or even Sapphire, which is what status you’d have with MPC Gold.

I can see where the confusion occurs- as the website does refer to "Gold Frequent Flyers" however it is an Oneworld wide problem.

Perhaps it would be better to quantify it as Qantas Gold Frequent flyers to remove any element of doubt.
