Hi all, hoping someone can assist with this as the information I have from various websites and my ticketing information seems inconsistent.

I'm booked to fly business class with Cathay from Sydney to San Francisco (it’s a Qantas award booking). The flight is on one booking, with CX110 to Hong Kong and then 3 hours later CX892 to San Francisco.

I believe that the allowance for my business class flight is 2 bags with a maximum of 32 kgs in each bag. But this seems a low allowance, especially compared to Qantas. Can anyone, especially those with recent experience confirm my assumption of 2 x 32?

That sounds right for CX. Oneworld Emerald would provide an additional 20kgs and Sapphire 15kgs.

One thing Qantas is generous at is their baggage allowance.

That's the standard allowance for CX J with a leg to the US and no additional status (which could give you an extra 32kg bag).

Of course. The piece allowance so an extra piece, not an extra 20kgs.

Can confirm that the limit for J was 2 x 32 kgs and they were strict about it.
