Can someone help confirm economy baggage allowance for economy round the world one world ticket. Travel agent suggests 2x 23kg pieces per person for the whole trip - but then suggested I check websites of airlines we are traveling with ( qantas, BA, AA, CX). Websites all different and very confusing!! In particular don't want to be slugged for excess baggage with AA flights accross USA. Thanks!

Thanks serfty. This is a great place to get accurate quick answers. :)

If your travel agent issues the tickets correctly you shouldnt have a problem. The e-tkt receipts should show 2pc in the baggage colum. Check this when you get the reciepts. If it doesnt take it back the travel agent to correct before you leave.

Absolutely none of the AA issued e-ticket emails for our most recent LONE4 had any baggage allowance noted.

My E ticket printout states " contact airline to confirm baggage allowance" !! ... I will printout document from one world website re 2 pieces and carry it with me.

My GF had to argue the toss on this on a LONE4 about 5 years ago. I think it was with BA at LHR, who wanted to charge her excess for the second bag. In any case, she won the argument (very stubborn ), but it probably would have been much easier had she had the OW printout you (wisely) are going to take.

Until about 2 years or so ago, the xONEx rules simply referred to the "The Piece System to be used" - no mention of the number. It is a relatively recent change that it refers to "Two free pieces of 23 kilos each". So 5 years ago a printout may not have helped.
