Hi.
I'm a Qantas FF, and have booked a business class flight back to Melbourne.
The first leg is operated by AA.

On Qantas's site it says I can check in 3 bags for free if they operate it, but I'm not sure if that applies to AA.
Does anyone know?

Thanks!

Is it booked through Qantas? Or through AA? If it is through QF then the baggage limit should be the same throughout all sectors, regardless of carriers.

Thanks Juddles.
It's booked through Qantas, with a QF airline code, but is not 'operated by'.

Would help to know the actual flight mumbers

If on one ticket generally the transpacific sector will determine your luggage allowance

With the USA DoT exception to IATA 302, the baggage allowance is as for the Marketing carrier. So in this case, QF's allowance applies.

QF4810 MSP -> DFW (operated by AA)
QF 8 DFW -> SYD
QF417 SYD -> MEL

It's business class (I)

Thanks to everyone who replied. I feel a lot more comfortable now.

Yes QF luggage allowance all the way :D

Sometimes QF will sell for example AA LAX-SYD (as in the non codeshare flight) then QF SYD-MEL. In that case I think the AA luggage allowance applies initially and practically speaking all the way.
