Apologies if this has been discussed, there is no search available on the current AFF App.

Where's the bacon? Standard breakfast offering seems to be scram, mini snags and either mush or beans... no bacon.

I am sure that QF lounges, even the QP used to have bacon some of the time. I often travel in the morning so I have a decent sample size (albeit mostly SYD, MEL, CBR, BNE).

I have heard the EK theory, but surely not?

There's no pig on flights to the desert, otherwise they have it from time to time.

Less common on domestic flights these days, I agree, but have had bacon in J lounges a couple of times this month. I suspect it makes for a fresher meal to have snags or mushrooms, rather than bacon - especially if it is fatty.

I think the OP was talking about bacon available in QPs? I reckon just a cost issue.

And lest we get distracted about the whole EK/Gulf practices thing, note what was on offer for breakfast in the Exec Lounge at the Dubai Hilton when I was there:

Ummm... because bacon actually costs money?

Bacon is a single piece of protein. Sausages and other mush is minced meat that can come from any source, including off-cuts.

It's very rare these days to find single, whole pieces of protein in economy class, and business on some airlines is going the same way. Cost cutting.

I had some excellent bacon in the Sydney J Lounge recently, by can't remember seeing in on a QF flight for a few years now.

I was impressed with the Syd J lounge bacon too. Coming off the overnight BA flight where I had decent breakfast already, but who can resist bacon?! It looked and was good.

I'm thinking bacon (on flights) would be very difficult to cook and then keep warm/reheat and maintain a edible and tasty treat. So why give people another reason to bash QF food service

Bacon in the MEL Int J Lounge this morning. It's the first time I've seen it here in a while, more often there are the mini sausages.

It was a little thick and undercooked for my liking but sub-standard bacon is better than no bacon at all.

and those same people complain when there is no variety  ...damned if they do...because it isn't prepared to their liking!!..and damned if they don't

I had bacon in the BNE Dom J Lounge last Thursday morning. It was pretty decent as far as I remember.

They had mini sausages as well, so it wasn't one or the other.

If you watch Big Bang theory Howard is a Jew allows himself steady portions don't get me started on Hindus and Cows.....

Likely the same porcine parasites to contend with when the divine laws were being drawn up
