Hi everyone,

I am planning on booking a J flight redemption using my QF points, CDG-SIN. The 2 (likely) options (based on some dummy bookings I have made) are:

BA CDG-LHR - A319 (1hr10)
LHR-SIN - A380 or B777 (12h50)

QR CDG-DOH - A340 (6h25)
DOH-SIN - B787 (7h50)

I am not too fussed about the departure or arrival times as they are only 3 hours different. There is only a 1:05hr transit time at Doha which could be an issue if the first flight is delayed. I don't normally get more than an few hours sleep on an aircraft anyway, so the 2 shorter QR flights don't really bother me.

As this is my first major trip O/S since 2008, I am looking more for the enjoyment factor. I suppose my main priorities are the lounges, the quality of food & drink (champagne!), service, cabin quality (comfort/IFE/etc).

Any thoughts or advice on which to choose will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info - didn't realize Qatar were getting the a380. The Krug sounds fab, but not sure if I'd get to taste any with the short transit time!

I recently flew BA J on the 380 from Joburg to LHR. The new cabin looked good, but I wasn't very impressed by the comfort. It's hard to explain but the centre console (where the privacy screen sits) impedes into your space and it felt very claustrophobic. I also wasn't very impressed by the food or wine.
On the trip I flew J with QF, BA, Iberia and LAN Chile. BA was my least favourite on comfort and wine, and second last on food (Iberia took that prize)
