BA upgrades Kangaroo Route to Boeing 777-300ER, shifts flights to T5!

And.... for those that are interested there are some absolutely MINGING Y+ fares to celebrate the new 773 for next year...

I scored Y+ $1889 all in to BCN (LHR/BCN/LHR in whY) which is quite frankly astonishing.

Sale fares finish 4 Nov....

For the same dates in Y+ (MAY/JUN) QF is 6.2K, VS 3.2K and CX 3.5K

Good news for a self funded traveller with time in LHR and SIN on the way there and back...

Good points, status credits, baggage entitlements (2 x 23kg) and free seat requests!

Ooh Roo

Willie

BA still hasn't said anything about the LHR-BKK flights. Surely they're not going to maintain a T3 presence for one flight (both in and out) a day?

I preferred the CCR because it felt quieter and I liked sitting out on the terrace. Ms FM much preferred the standard F lounge as there were more things she liked -crisps, scones etc.... Very happy to see the move to T5 though.

Agreed. I've had one dud visit however, it won't stop me from crossing the threshold again.

Does anyone know if the Emirates deal affects lounge access for regular Qantas Club members (just lost my Gold today :( ). i.e. If you're on a BA flight SYD-LHR can you use the International Qantas Club in SYD & SIN still?

- Edit: Just rang Qantas and the guy said it's unlikely to change. He suggested printing off the QC access page from the website for good measure.

You'd think so. All the oneworld rules are still there.

but its not a OneWorld rule that allows access for Qantas Club members. Its a direct agreement between Qantas Club and BA (and AA) to allow lounge access to Qantas Club members when flying with BA (and AA).

OneWorld rules only apply to Sapphire and Emerald status members and entry by class of travel.

They still operate some Europe flights out of T3, such as Lisbon and Vienna (plus a few more) so it is more than 1 flight a day. Moving BKK to T5 makes sense, ie keeping all long haul in T5 and I reckon it would make sense to move the ex-BMI flights to T3 to avoid the need to build a lounge/upgrade the BMI lounge in T1. The only downside to T3 is all BA's short haul flights used bus gates, though this may have changed in the 2 years since I left London. The a/c were always parked at the western end of T1.
