Changes start today.... Sounds like opportunistic pricing to me.

I wonder why Australian 9+ hr long hauls attract an additional 20 quid over other 9+ hr destinations - I am presuming these are applied per sector, so LHR-SYD in J would attract 133.99 for LHR-SIN and 153.99 for SIN-SYD... no, that cant be right - SIN-SYD is less than 9 hrs. It must be applied only once for LHR-SYD so the extra 20 covers the second sector of the flight I guess.

Oh well, I've answered my own question

Those fuel fines are just vicious.... seriously... nearly 300 AUD for some flights? That is a joke!

Does the person sitting up the front of the plane use more fuel then the ones down the back????

One could argue that the amount of aircraft that the person at the front of the aircraft is being transported on is a greater proportion of the aircraft than down the back. This more of the fuel is being used to fly that person thus a higher fuel surcharge.

One could argue that airlines should stop this whole surcharge thing and just list full prices.

Not to mention extra luggage allowances ...... (although my observations would indicate those up the front actually usually travel with less luggage than most up the back)

My wife sees the extra allowance as an opportunity for me to carry extra luggage for her. :D
