Hi
Does anyone know a way of reducing the seat selection fee. Booked 4 x J tickets and now find $80 booking fee per seat
I have no status , is there a way around the fee?

I don't think there is, short of attaining oneworld status. Otherwise you'll have to wait for check-in.

I've been able to pick (and change) seats on BA at/after booking as Sapphire with both BAEC and QFF (Those in First, J, C, W, Y, travellers with infants or 'additional needs' can too)
OW Ruby can do so at T-7 days
Travellers with children (or group bookings) can do at T-72h
Short-haul Semi-flex tickets at T-48h
Normal is T-24h

I have used QFF points to buy 2 J award seats JNB to LHR for next year in a A380.
I was gobsmacked to find that i had to pay for seat selection - specifically AUD163 per person one way!
Has anyone had experiences waiting till T-24 to select seats?
Was there any choice left or just a pile of singles?
