British Airways launches free upgrades from Club World to First

[TD="align: left"] Today (January 10, 2012) British Airways is launching free upgrades to First for business class customers on one leg of their journey.

The offer is time-limited, so those buying a fully flexible eligible Club World fare need to book and have travelled between January 10 and March 30, 2012 to benefit from the deal.

Those on a semi-flexible Club World ticket will have a shorter booking window of January 10 to 31, 2012 for travel between January 10 and March 30, 2012.

British Airways’ new First cabin is now on flights between London Heathrow and New York JFK, Lagos, Shanghai, Tokyo Haneda and Narita, Hong Kong and Sao Paulo.

Their twitter feed suggests its valid for UK bookings only so might want to check the T&C's

When they've done these offers in the past it's always confirmed upgrade at time of booking as you book the F sector in the GDS when making the original booking.

NF is 100% via SIN........777

NF is running around 30-40% via BKK......747

Just did LHR-BKK in NF and its pretty good

IIRC, it all changes around March when they drop BKK-SYD & LHR-SIN-SYD changes to 747.......therefore, NF becomes a lottery again

Confirmed at time of booking.....great deal, we took advantage of the same offer back in 2009.

This is a really good offer.
I used it a number of times over a few years LHR to the USA and on 3 out of 4 return journeys was given a comp upgrade to F on the other leg as well. I wasn't high ff status at the time either.
