BA Interlining with EK

Hi All,

Have some tickets to LHR from MEL later this year. Unfortunately I'm booked on the QF EK Codeshare on the way back.

I need to travel back from Europe prior to my returning flight from LHR and there is only a BA early morning flight which would give me a long LHR layover or a late evening flight with a 2hour connection window. Has anyone had any experience trying to interline their bags?

Why unfortunately?

Just ask BA to send your bags to the final destination and give them the QF flight numbers, assuming you booked it with the QF flight numbers?

Unfortunately, as I'd prefer to fly on QF metal. EK also has no upper deck economy.

Couldn't get a firm answer from QF or BA about this interlining. I had two options for the connecting flight, one which would have been 140minutes to connect, the other 6 and a half hours. Have had to go the long connection as it would be unprotected.

I had a similar question - Dr FM is going SYD-LHR on Qantas metal, with an EK flight no - she then wants to book a flight on BA to Zagreb - when she checks in in Sydney, will they send baggage all the way through, or will she need to pick up in LHR and recheck with BA?

Dr FM spoke to Qantas and they said no problem checking through to Zagreb - just to tell them at checkin that she is on a BA flight from Heathrow.
