The initial allocation of the 777 was seasonal and as far as i can see there is no clear indication of if/when it will return apart from an assumption that it would be in the northern winter perhaps. Will be a couple of years before the 789s we usually get have had the makeover.

I have an option to fly business or first.. SYD to SIN
Is the first worth the additional 35k points? Looks like a stretched out business class

If the alternative is the old CW seat then yes, with bells on.

I flew recently on the old CW on a 777 (aircraft subbed) and forgot how ordinary it was.

I believe the plane is operating both new business and first class seats on the 777-300er.
It's the temporary switch from 789 to 777 for BA15/BA16

Did a paid upgrade to J SIN-SYD on BA15. Got the 1-2-1 config but seat seemed to have a broken storage console and seat seemed not quite fully lie flat. YMMV

Are there "new" club suite 777 business class planes with the old 777 1st class still? Expertflyer seems to show 1-2-1 for 1st class but I (personally) can't tell if that is the old or new one

According to Aerolopa, no. First seats reduce from 14 down to 8 when they fit the CS seats:

Four class 777-300ER
Type 77G

G-STBA G-STBB G-STBC G-STBE G-STBF G-STBI (6)
2010 First, 2006 CW, 2010 WT+, 2010 WT (9 abreast) and Thales IFE

Type 77H
G-STBD G-STBG G-STBH G-STBJ G-STBK G-STBL G-STBM G-STBN G-STBO G-STBP (10)
2020 First, 2019 CWS, 2018 WT+, 2018 WT (10 abreast) and Panasonic eX3 IFE

Boo I'm in J on a 789 from LHR to SIN :( (not that QF care about facts in MMB, they have it listed as an A320).

I don't love BA at the best of times, but if I get that ruddy rear facing middle seat I am not going to be happy.

I was pleasantly surprised with my Club Europe awards earlier this month 😏

Just a note that my SO, who was travelling on a split PNR, did not share my surprise. However there was something weird going on with the way BA treated the PNR, as her QFF number and status wasn't shown on her BP.

Missing points claim (through the form, not the email) yielded surprising results. No BP or e-ticket needed.

Reporting I wasn't pleasantly surprised when I did the long trek to the UK and back (but was hopeful)! Hit and miss it seams. Though my ticket was re-issued more than 10 times, so I was just thankful to have a seat on board!
