Every day I keep praying for a last min aircraft swap or delay causing it to move to the 5th of may. Can't believe I miss the inaugural flight by 1 day.

It's already on its inaugural. It will go back to LA tomorrow (2nd) for its first SYD-LAX. So you are at least a few days out for the inaugural.

Oh ok I thought 4th was its first from Sydney. Still upset but not so bad now.

Great pics, thanks for sharing! The bar looks great. The J seats look a little cramped but hopefully that's just a result of how the photo was taken...

Thats one thing I dont like about all these new "interlocked" seats; I loved the open feeling and unimpeeded legroom of the old seat.

I like the two couch seats in front of row 8 but I would hate to be sitting in row 8.

Do these seats still come with a mattress/bedding or just a blanket and pillow?

Many thanks for the pics!

Absolutely. The Business Class suites have the memory foam mattress and duvet.

They are stored in cupboards and the crew will make up your "bed" whenever you request them to do so.

That's good to know, at least they wont take up overhead locker space.

FYI: throughout May with just the one refurb'd bird in the air, the trick to snaring The Business on SYD-LAX will be to fly on even-numbered days – eg VA1 or VA2 on 4th, 6th, 8th etc.

Im surprised by the lack of media/announcements on this - is it in operation yet?

cheers,

Went back into service 3-4 days ago.....I, too am surprised that there has been no 'hooha'. JBs 'party' budget must have been cut :D. Even Richard Branson accosting VA female staff hasnt made an appearance:D (Maybe even SB has decided to distance himself from VA) Just my opinion, of course:)

A delayed schedule that's lately been a moving target, making it next to impossible to pin down a specific date on which to hold an event (such as a launch media walk-through) given you want to plan that at least a week out – last month's shock of AirNZ looking to exit Virgin Australia certain to be a hot topic at any Q&A – ditto for this week's quarterly report revealing expected underlying loss in H2 and FY16 profit potentially half of market expectations, with share price plunging to 12-month low of 33 cents... I can see plenty of very good reasons not to hold a presser.

Just checking seat maps today after snaring reward J on VA2. It appears that some of the March 2017 seats have 11A blocked. I dont know why this is the case.
