Homer - keep your shorts on! Well isn't that what Bart would say?

I have personally moved from my preferred aisle seat in VA J to middle middle to accomodate a very distraught nervous pax separated from her bf on board. Worst case scenario if you cannot get VA to satisfy your preferences pre boarding I would be still pretty confident that the average J pax would observe your predicament and may well be happy to move to remedy your situation.

Well I would really hope so anyway - I am always a very positive person - I think you will get set.

I agree, in most cases such as this, with some polite requests once on board I think you'll find that most people are happy to move around to accommodate situations such as yours.

From my research with Expert Flyer, it would seem that VA1 will be operating with the new seat layout on a daily basis as of June 3.
Looks like that 2nd refurbed 777 will be flying into BNE from the 3rd (departing LAX on the 1st), and then doing every 2nd day bne-lax-bne

Maybe VA wanted to share the new business class experience between BNE & SYD.

Thank goodness! Departing 8th August out of BNE so I should be right I hope!

My last BNE-LAX flight in Oct 2012 was just before an upgrade iirc, so I'm extremely happy to be post upgrade this time :)

They must have got the second refurbishment done faster than planned.

Both VA8 and VA2 tonight (June 1st) are showing the new seat map.

That's about 12 days earlier then the seat map indicated Daily SYD from the 13th, now indicated to be from 27th.

So it took about 30 days this time and they are anticipating 3½ weeks for the third.

Was it always planned that the second refurbished aircraft would go to BNE? I had thought that it was announced that this aircraft would join the first refurbished aircraft in SYD to create a daily refurbished service, with the BNE change to follow next?

Flying BNE to LAX on the 10th June returning 24 June all in J and miss the new config both ways - damn!

The original seating maps had indicated that Sydney would get the first two refurb'd birds to ensure all SYD LAX and LAX SYD flights would be the Business before BNE got an update. Looks like VA is sharing the love around.

Third 777 refurb VH-VPH out of CWF and scheduled on VA8 LAX-BNE today

Just VPE and VOZ to go, both of which are on the way to LAX.

OK.
VA source lists both VPD and VPF as complete, one must be incorrect

The second aircraft returned to service yesterday (VPF). Thus far, PD and PF are the only two reconfigured aircraft.

im happy to be corrected...but my search brings up that VPH has completed its refurb and is the second a/c to return to service ( lax-bne yesterday)...and VPF is the third a/c going in for refurb (it flew lax-cwf yesterday)

This is right.

VPD was first and back into service around 1 May

VPH just finished

VPF as far as I can see is in now for refurb
