Hi all,

I recently flew a flight booked via BA, which used a FINNAIR/IBERIA airways flight.
However i had to change the flight due to unforseen circumstances and the changed flight was downgraded from business to economy.
It was a H fare if i remember correctly. (I can no longer access the booking details via BA).
Also the flight was a changed flight from my initial flight and hence BA never sent me an email for the confirmation, i do have one of the boarding passes though, (HEL-MAD).
The boarding pass does have my QF FF attached.

I attempted to submit a claim via QF however got a "charter flight - unsuccessful"
So i am a bit confused as to why, as when i rang QF customer service up a month or two ago prior to my flight they said it should be credited. Under those fare conditions.

However i don't have my initial ticket which was (MAD - HEL) (I only have the return ticket)

I just noticed the flights appear in my Qantas log but have the wrong date October 2nd, when i already flew those flights several weeks ago. (Under bookings)

Does anyone have any suggestions as it is literally these two flights which will get me platinum status this year~!

Edit:
I have noted it states sold as IBxx_X

However i cannot find IB on Qantas claim points item on the website.

Hi Astrosly,
It was a Finnair plane we flew.
AY3183 was the flight from Helsinki to Madrid, the Finnair flight number from Madrid to Helsinki i cannot remember/don't have the ticket for.

Hi Mannej yes i have the actual boarding pass from the Helsinki to Madrid leg of the Journey.

Just not the Madrid to Helsinki leg as i left that on the plane :/

OK, AY3183 is operated by Finnair so you should get SCs. Seems the issue is the MAD-> HEL flight? (love that combo :)

Flight AY3184 codeshares as IB7426 which sounds like the flight numbe you were booked on by BA - it departs MAD at 10:15 daily. With an IB flight number but operated by Finnair I would say you are entitled to SCs as both are OW airlines. I'd call Qantas to have it sorted out.

Also the ghost booking in Qantas MMB comes from other OW airlines that use a different booking system to QF and have a different PNR. Both BA and Air Berlin bookings appear forward-dated about 3 months after the actual flight date, but they disappear after this date. I don't worry about them and let them drop off. However, this should provide you the original PNR from BA's booking system.

Hahaha i just noticed that too!,
Perhaps that is the reason why it's been such an annoyance!

Thanks, i will give them a ring tomorrow morning.

Your BP may be what QF request as proof of what flights you were on. Best to keep hold of them.

Hi Mannej, yes that seems the way to go now.
This has just never happened to me before flying OW/QF but i guess with some of the partner airlines you have to be cautious.
It's by chance i even have the return BP as usually i get rid of them after the flight.
Just sent them an email so hopefully i hear back soon~

I had the same issue with an AY credit. I logged a claim online and it came back as a Charter Flight too. Red Roo picked up on the issue and resolved it. If your retro claim has failed, may be worth escalating to Red Roo.

Hi Green, how would you reccommend i escalate to Red-Roo?

First, try calling QFF Customer Service and ask them to look into it. Make a phone call to them. Give them all the details you can.

If you do not make any progress through QFF via a phone call, then send a PM to Red Roo member on AFF asking for assistance.

I've had a number of weird issues crediting AY flights to QF over the past 12 months.
On the positive side, I had a decent length (almost 4 hour) J flight on AY (operated by Flybe) post full J-class SC to my QF account, which I think is fair as the plane is AY branded and everything, however I expected 0 SC as it wasn't technically operated by a OneWorld airline.
On the negative side, I have a full Y-class flight on an (AY operated) AY flight post 0 SC.
Couldn't be bothered doing anything about it in the end... but yeah, it happens :P

At least it posts something. I can't get Ay codeshares to post to.Aa at all without manual claiming and lots of pain thereafter.

Received a call from Qantas, been an issue since they aren't sure if the ticket is a class of travel which can be credited though i am sure on the Shadow booking it stated H and when i called up earlier the officer said it should be credited.
Sent the copy of the BA e-ticket flight to them, let's see what happens.

Literally just need this to be credited for WP D:
