I've done a quick search but can't find an answer - maybe the question is too unusual.

After a lot of searching, I've tracked down a multi-city award PER-HKG-LAX, JFK-SFO-PER in J for October/November but points required (about 320000) are a bit high. I'd do an award OWE but it's a bit hard out of PER without going well out of my way, and the new site doesn't make searching easy.

So how much would this cost me in $$? Who knows. The web site either can't find flights or tells me it's an illegal routing or similar.

How can they have award availability but not paid seats?

For a paid booking you'd probably want to just book through CX seeing as CX flies HKG-JFK vv. direct.

I know we keep knocking them but have you tried a travel agent?

Perhaps the open jaw although with multi-city it should be able to provide that routing.

Thanks. No problem finding paid seats (CX are indeed good) . I was just amazed that the site could find award seats but not paid seats.

And I repeat (from another thread) that on the new site, making a multi city award booking is a nightmare.
