How would I purchase a BA WT+ seat online when I book my award flight. This segment would be lhr-jfk. Many thanks for your help.

AFAIK BA WT+ awards can only be booked over the phone, thus incurring the 2500 assisted booking fee on top of the 50% points surcharge over economy.

Indeed, the 50% + 2.5k fine is needed for WT+. This is stated on the points table page ( Frequent Flyer - Using Points - Award Flights - Points Tables )

^ The number of points needed for an Award flight on British Airways World Traveller Plus is 50% higher than the number needed for an Economy Award flight on Qantas. The Assisted Award booking fee of 2,500 points will apply.
