Award flight cancellation - cash paid refunded?

I should know the answer to this but ...
It should be in the fare conditions but ...

If you cancel an award booking before travel has commenced, are the taxes and charges paid in cash or by card refunded?

The fare type page confirms points are refunded (minus the fee):

Requests to cancel a Classic Flight Reward ticket (where permitted) and re-credit points may be submitted prior to the commencement of the first flight in your booking and will incur a Cancellation Refund Fee in points. Only points that would not have expired will be re-credited.

It also says:

But it doesn't directly answer my question!
I think the cash component is refunded but I am not 100% sure ...

Yes, all refunded. Only "loss" is the 5000 point penalty for cancellation.

Yep this is exactly what happens. Especially painful if you have to cancel a nice J or F award you secured 350 odd days ago.
