when booking virgin reward seats and it says 100000 points or 80000 + $110 when does the second option of points and pay come up as I proceed forward.(dont want to go too far forward as just researching the flight atm)

The points+pay option becomes editable when you reach the actual payment page. There will be a slider that acknowledges the minimum reward seat redemption eg (SYD-LAX J long haul being 94500+fees) and your current points tally as the maximum. Move the slider to the left and it will only apply the seat redemption - which then allows you to pay the surcharges in cash ( best option, unless you are flush with points and don't want to spend any money).

You can easily navigate to this page and still quit the booking before it's too late. But it really doesn't serve any purpose, as the points+pay information is readily available on the search page anyway.

Hope this makes sense :)
