Trying to plan a trip to the USA in May this year, Checked expert flyer and the following detail re fare class availability came up F9 A9 J9 C9 D9 I9 W9 R9 T9 Y9 B9 H9K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G0 X9 E0, yet when I went looking for a J classic award flight, no seats were available, and it only offers the trip in economy Is any body able to help explain this?

The J classics are normally snapped up around 11-12 months in advance as they are in hot demand.

Unless you contact QF directly and ask for them to open a seat up, I'd suggest you could be a bit late if you are looking at going direct/using QF.

If you're willing to fly FJ there is availability but I think you will be too early for the new A330's. Lower taxes is a minor compensation.
