You are very lucky, that is a once off according to the timetable in the GDS :D

Trial run perhaps? or just repositioning plane? I note QF84 flying out of HNL on the 9th as well.

Looking forward to finally sampling a decent J product on HNL route (done 767 many times direct and after flying to LAX in A380 then 763 AA to HNL - a much shorter experience).

Just as an aside, it looks like in quite a few weeks Jetstar will be operated 8 weekly flights (double daily on Friday), and Qantas 4 flights per week (an extra flight on Saturday). With HA soon flying 3xwk BNE-HNL, that is a lot of capacity now between Australia and Hawaii.

Wow. I never thought Id see the day, even if it is for only 1 day. But baby steps I guess for Qantas. The sad thing is Im leaving 3 days earlier on QF3 :( Wish I had could of departed 3 days later in this case.

If Qantas is too stubborn to replace the 767 on this route, why don't they at least refurbish the plane? Even if they just chose one dedicated HNL aircraft to refurbish, and they replaced the seats, upgraded the decor and added AVOD etc., that would at least be an improvement. I'd even fly with them on that route if they did that. :)

What happens if that one plane goes u/s?

At least it is consistent not that I am trying to make that a positive thing

IMHO QF is not really worried about this route otherwise they would be looking at providing a better experience for there paxs.

IFE apparently should be better when they roll out the Q Streaming/ iPads on *all* 767s. (QF said on twitter when I asked that all 767s would get this).

'Stubborn' is an interesting choice of words IMHO. I do agree however that if they would do a cabin refurbish people would be happy. In fact most people would have no idea about how new or old the aircraft really are in that situation.

Yeah, not nice when you're paying top dollar for old, worn out surroundings.
The same goes for hotels.

Agree. When you compare pricing of QF3/4 in Sept compared to Jetstar theres a whopping difference. Hard to justify on the QF 767.

Guess I'm going to find out for myself soon as I am on QF3 in September :-|

As long as people keep paying top price for a cough product, why would QF bother to improve anything?!?

It was the best of a bad bunch. Also FF points help offset what I paid. Also coming back on the new downgraded Qantas A380 so I can't win. Hopefully my upgrade to F comes through on the return leg and I don't have to wait to long to use a toilet onboard.

Received an email from Qantas this week telling me of changes to my booking to/from HNL in December.

Turns out the change is that, on certain days in December, QF 3 and QF 4 will be operated by international config A330 aircraft instead of B767.

Great news! (except for the fact that it appears to revert to B767 after December.....)

Could it be that these subs are for the 767 cabin refurb program?

Good guess but this also raises the point will the International configured B763's be reconfigured before the Domestic B763's?

And another point is that will the reconfig of the B763 fleet result in one standardized cabin? I would expect so. If they are removing and replacing seats I would be kissing the J class 1-2-2 abreast cabin goodbye...
