Any update here on a refurbished lie flat/angled product from Qantas on this route?

Still 767's, but they are upgrading the 767's with the Ipads. So in essence, same product, freshened up a tad, and with some form of Personal AVOD IFE.

Whoopie :(

Was hoping how Alan recommended that QF replaces the sloped seats on the A330 with lie flat seats for longer routes would also extend to this Aircraft.

Problem with the 767 is that such an investment is potentially not worth it considering how long they have left in the fleet.

For the record, the 330 seats are lie flat, just angled!

Had a bit of a laugh when I read this. This is what Qantas says about their flights to Hawaii on their website (Honolulu is a featured top 10 destination):

"You'll enjoy flying on our recently refurbished B767s on your flight to Hawaii*, currently being introduced on the route. The refurbished aircraft feature new interiors and inflight entertainment.
From 20 February 2013, customers travelling onboard the refreshed B767 will be able to enjoy QStreaming, our on-demand inflight entertainment streamed direct to iPads in every seat."

So are people now "enjoying" flying on the old 767s for >10 hours to/from HNL or is this just more marketing spin?

Glossed up marketing spin for sure..
I like the 767s but they are old, but until there is more competition on this sector QF are being very complacent.
At least for BNE we have HA & newer 330s with favourable departure & arrival times.
I will do a TR post travel..

HA are only flying 767's from Brisbane. A330's only being used out of Sydney at this stage. Not a lot of difference in the HA or QF 767.

Thanks for clarifying.. Mmm, so it seems similar.
It is one of my upcoming flights BNE/HNL with HA.

Seatguru has 2 different configs for the HA B767, flight HA444 BNE-HNL is usually B767 (one V1 with 18J & 235Y seats and V2 with 18J & 252Y) depending on which version you are on may make a difference.

Strangely enough HA cLiam one config with 264 seats on their website.

Yes - the seatmap on the HA web site matches the Seatguru HA B767-300 Vers.1 But either Seatguru or HA are miscounting the number of actual PAX seats on that aircraft. The seatguru HA B767-300 Vers.2 has tighter pitch and more seats so I am guessing maybe its a newer/different configuration?

HA have four ex Delta birds so that may account for the difference, and they might be used for domestic.

On Seatguru, version 1 of the 767 represents the first 3 original 767-300ER's (N580HA to N582HA) that were originally supposed to go to Ansett Australia. These aircraft have the older Boeing interior. Version 2 of the 767 on Seatuguru represents the newer 767s leased from Boeing Capital and AWAS (N587HA to N593HA). These aircraft have the newer Boeing Signature 777 style interior. I believe version 2 also represents the 4 ex-Delta planes (N594HA, N596HA to N598HA). However, these aircraft have a different interior called the Nu-Look interior that is an aftermarket modification from a company called Heath Tecna. It is quite nice and almost like the Boeing Signature interior.....The only configuration not represented on Seatuguru is for the 4 ex-LTU ILFC leased aircraft (N583HA to N586HA). I haven't flown on too many of these aircraft so can't recall the interior too much.

B580HA, N581HA, N582HA, N586HA, N588HA, N590HA and N592HA have operated the service to Brisbane this month

we flew qf4 back to sydney last week the flight was not bad at all was in Y sure the seat room isnt that huge . They have ipads in the seat pockets for all now. there was few dramas on takeoff some of the ipads were not streaming the FA replaced the ones not working . there was a limited supply of movies and tv shows i would expect this may increase . This kept me entertained for most of the flight
