Re: Avianca Transfer Miles promo (of course you need some miles to start with)

Hmmmmm - this is an interesting promotion!

It would entirely depend on how many times you could transfer back and forth (does this breach the T's and C's?) within the time period. You pay full price for the first lot you buy (I assume all of us have none) but then for every time you can transfer, you get that same amount of miles at the magical half price ($15 per 1000) which we have all been waiting for.

If you can only transfer once (i.e. you buy 50K now and get an additional 50K at half price for a one-off transfer), it would be the same value as a 50% bonus buy promotion.

Anyone going to do it? Unless I could be certain I can transfer unlimited times and the transfers take, say, only 24 hours, I'm going to hold out for a 100% buy bonus (which I expect in December).

It's great to see they're doing points bonuses post their *A join - hopefully there are many more!!

Successfull - i have had a play, no issues at all. started with 1000 now have 16,000. Cost was: 30 + 15 + 30 + 60 + 120. Aside from the first 1000 miles cost is USD15 per 1000. NAB pre-auth is $14.69 with gold banking. They seem to be doing USD1 authorisations each time which i assume will drop off. Just waiting for NAB to call me and ask what the hell I'm doing with 6 or 10 pending transactions in Columbia. does it get any more suspect? lol

How funny!

So if my sums are correct 68k miles (EUR return) is $1095...vs $1020 for a straight out buy promo (that includes paying full whack for buying the last 4k needed although a wee bit could be saved by sharing). 8 transactions?

Excellent, this is what I hoped would be the case but didn't want to be the guinea pig!

I find the buggy from the bottom of the escalator to the lounge just a bit much! I really do have legs for that sort of thing! :D

Hey Everyone,
Did you get an email from LifeMiles this morning offering a bonus 100% on miles if you transfered to a family member?
The email wasn't in English so I'm just going on Google Translate and there wasn't anything on the website about it?
It then said you could buy miles for $15 for 1000.

So a little confusing?! Thoughts?

you might want to change your lifemiles profile to have english as your preferred communications language. the english email said:

Until July 31[SUP]st[/SUP], transfer miles to an account of a relative or friend and they will receive the double.

For every 1,000 LifeMiles you transfer, we will double the miles transferred to the other account to enjoy through our air and commercial partner’s network.

This promotion is available through LifeMiles.com, Avianca and /or TACA’s Information Centers and Call Center. Pay USD $15 plus local taxes per each block of 1,000 miles.
