The site just keep crashing on me, a very simple AKL to SYD award, all good until the payment page and then boom ...arghhhh. Not happy:evil:

I have been trying for 4 weeks to get them to reset my password. Sent them all identification documents etc, they told me they're on the case.

Honestly no idea of customer service. I have 40,000miles sitting there I want to use and can't access them.

That is ridiculous! Use them through screenshot method?

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Has any one found a way to get the call centre to book a mixed class itinerary via the screen shot method. I am finding JFK-HND in F then HND-SYD in J but this itinerary does not show on a JFK-SYD search. e-mail to call centre says they cannot do mixed class bookings. For some reason a JFK-SYD search (on another date) does show the whole itinerary in J. On my date there is only F available on the JFK-HND leg otherwise I'd be happy with J all the way.

Based on the experience here, no, you can't. There is just no way. They will only allow mixed cabin for whatever is showing online.

So I somehow managed to do it. I booked FCO-FRA-BKK-SYD with the FCO-FRA leg in J on LH and the rest in F on TG. Can't give you any tips as to how or why, but can confirm they have done it via screen shot method. The only thing I can think may have helped is I don't believe there is a way to go from FCO-FRA in F on the *A network (unless I am mistaken).

No, there is no intra-Euro "F" cabins (unless by exception on fifth freedom / tag flights).

Our group has done perhaps 20 mixed-class screenshot bookings. It is most definitely possible, as you have confirmed.

Gday

BA run a LHR-DME flight on a 777 which has first class. I dont think this is a tag flight. However it isnt any use for Lifemiles as BA is oneworld.

A very rare exception, and arguably stretching it a bit. It isn't a tag flight - BA specifically designated this route as having F service on it. But as you say, useless in this context because we're talking Lifemiles.

Similarly, LHR/TLV is operated by BA also offering First Class, but I guess in this case TLV (Israel) would be considered part of Asia, not Europe.

As far as I can tell, there are no such exceptions for the Star Alliance.

Yup that was my understanding. But the moral of the story is you can do mixed class screenshot bookings, at least in some circumstances.

Gday

Does anyone know with Lifemiles- if you cancel a booking do the sets drop back into the Lifemiles inventory for someone else to snap up? Or do they disappear into no-where?

Thanks.

Pele.

Totally depends on the airline and I imagine the specific flight loading.

I don't think there is any such thing as 'LifeMiles inventory'...it's just inventory. No guarantees the seats will go back into a redemption class.

Just got an email about the latest 2 for 1 sale... with an added 5, 20 or 30% bonus if you get in early..

people's thoughts? i've never bought any lifemiles

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I bought Lifemiles under a similar scheme early this year and have since redeemed them for 2 x J Class from Milan via Heathrow & Narita to Sydney. Very good value if you have a trip in the planning and can be flexible with dates. Used the screenshot method and when the call centre got in touch with me they came up with a better routing with Brussels Airlines & ANA which did not come up on the website.

I know a lot of people complain about Lifemiles call centre but in my case they did a fantastic job.
