re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

swiss and austrian - you need to search for those and see what comes up.

OS is basically absent from LM as the flights are 'operated by Tyrolean Airways' which LM seems not to understand. However I did read somewhere that OS flight from March (?) next year are coming back under the Austrian fold so this may cause them to suddenly show up in LM.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

I'm pretty sure Air New zealand is out of the picture on non-stops USA-NZ. UA F is better anyway.

Have there been any reports of success with an NZ award using LM?

I have never seen availability, but have made limited searches on routes they operate.

Yes. Try NRT-AKL

You need to be careful. Occasionally the booking engine shows NZ 'First' class...but if you manage to book it, you'll actually be sitting in Premium Economy!

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

have you seen J awards available on the 789 service?

I have one booked for next May. I've seen better availability on PVG-AKL. In the opposite direction it always errors out for me.

Thats lucky, most award seat availability for akl-nrt is on the 767 which still flies several times a week

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

seems they haven't fixed the issue.

Looking within the next 14 days - all previous availability on SQ seems to have been zero'd out.

Connections via TG have been zero'd out - at least to China (individual segments PVG-BKK and BKK-MEL are available, with just a couple hours connection - but not showing on LM for through ticketing).

Previous Air India flights - while available to DEL, are not offering connections to HKG anymore.

Can get availability PVG-SYD via ICN. And a random CA flight here and there to SYD. But that seems about it from China.

I wonder if the SQ thing has anything to do with the $3500 glitch?

Darn! I also looked AUS-Europe, all zeroed out! Has anyone called LM and see if it's still bookable through call center?

If they blocked out all connecting flights, this is going to be the biggest scam ever! Offering us 125% bonus and then blocked out all the space.

I'll write to Lifemiles and see what their response is. Hopefully it's just a glitch.

It's not all connecting flights... OZ is there SYD-ICN-PVG. But essentially that's it! :(

This isn't a case of availability drying up... there were 5 flights MEL-SIN-PVG daily, and they all disappeared at the same time - for the whole booking period. UA is still showing the TG connections.

I know. I wonder if it's the same case as united not showing SQ flights but still bookable through the call center.

Seems TG and SQ are the issue here. Bummer, I was sooooo looking forward to flying F on TG....

Addition: This is a MAJOR DISASTER! I tried to look into SIN to LHR, which in the past is wide open with SQ flights if far out enough. Now there is nothing! No more SQ J flight on A380/77W bookable with LM just like everybody else!!!

I hope this is not true and a temporary glitch! The worst day in FFP world! Why did I buy the extra miles that now it is practically useless?????:(

You wouldn't be the only mug sitting on a pile of dust that wouldn't make a scratch on an ounce of Colombian blow.

Call me mug then.

The worst part is that without SQ redemptions I am stuck in ADL!!!

it's some error... because not even coach is showing available.

i think there are two separate issues... a) sq availability outright and b) in selected cases, failure to offer valid connections across a range of airlines (some are ok, sq/tg aren't. but I haven't tested more than that).

SQ connect to TG is fine, but ex-SIN. While I was looking for SQ to LHR, before if you search SIN-LHR, almost everyday will have SQ flights in J about 10 months out. Now it's showing Y in SQ and J in SQ/TG via BKK.

So the issue with TG connection should be just a glitch and I'm sure it should come back. But looks like SQ A380 is gone for good for LM. I think SQ is reserving those extra seats for VA members now that VA can be converted to KF. It makes sense since SQ has stake in VA but not LM.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

You guys need to relax and take a deep breath. It wouldnt be the first time there are temporary glitches on lifemiles.com booking engine

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

What would be the best flights for an F redemption to and from Australia to Japan?
ie which cities in Australia (I am presuming eastern seaboard only for direct flights), and are there particular flights that have the first cabin only?
And which cities in Japan - again I am presuming Tokyo would be best bet, but am wondering if there are others that would also work.
TIA
