re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Up until the start of the winter season TG462 (and quite often 466 too) was going out 77W every day. Unfortunately they then started the second LHR flight and MEL went back to 772ER. I wouldn't bank on the once a week thing based on recent days, I kept an eye on it for a while after Oct and it was always 772ER...the recent one I'm sure is a total outlier. I'd believe whatever your seatmap says. Now that TG have lost their second LHR slot at the end of the winter timetable hopefully it comes back!

I believe it is quite random. I got lucky with a 77W BKK-MEL in mid-October, but it seems to be an irregular exception.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Posting this whilst on board LH716 with 2h 53m to go until I touch down in HND.

It has been a wonderful flight coupled with some excellent ground service at FRA. Personal circumstances meant it has been a rather chaotic experience overall for me but that's just my side. In trying to enjoy the flight experience, it has been great.

One thing I will comment - and this is nothing against the service by LH - if you are at FRA and need to take care of customs etc. for claiming back the tax on purchases etc., leave yourself plenty of time and be prepared to do quite a bit of shuffling around, or otherwise forfeit any opportunity to get a refund. There are no customs facilities at the First Class Terminal, i.e. you can't get a customs stamp there, and if you need to go airside in order to obtain a stamp for whatever reason, you need to do that at the main terminal, then possibly exit and make your way back to the First Class Terminal.

That's all I'll post for now. I may expand on this all later.

P.S. Flynet is the inflight internet service for most LH longhaul flights. It is not free, even for First Class, but at EUR 12.75 for 24 hours (if paid through PayPal portal), that's fairly reasonable for some people.

2 hours out of HND, you must be flying over China / Russia border right about now.

It's been a long time since I flew LH F (June 2012) but I found the same thing. What I actually did at the time was ask the best way to get it done... they drove me across to the terminal in a Porsche Cayenne and waited for me right out the front in 'no-parking' spot. They had also radioed ahead to let them know I'd be coming so skipped the line of Chinese tourists.

All this while my wife was having a soak in the tub in the LH FCT. Good memories that one.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Hi guys,

Trying to get some flight from Mel - Sin in J for the end of Sept 2016. Was trying to use the MEL-CGK or MEL -KUL screenshot method but can't seem to find anything available. Have these dried up or been removed. Any other suggestions apart from T-14 that I could try? TIA

If they fixed their website and/or allowed mixed class bookings people would buy more miles and they wouldn't need to discount so aggressively.

Just under A$19/k. If the exchange rate goes to over .8 (brings the price down to just over A$17/k)I would consider it.

bit the bullet and bought enough for SYD to Europe o/w for my brother.

Roughly $1700 ain't too bad.

Fingers crossed I can wrangle the LM system to spit out a flight and not go through the trauma of screenshot and doing credit card details into their flaky phone system.
