re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Guys this may be something which is already well known but does LH block their J class from LM ? I do realise that there is a block for F with the exception of T-14 but now even that seems to be have disappeared, but I thought J was all good. Or is it only certain routes/aircraft which are blocked ?

Thanks
Haven't heard anything about J being blocked? Presumably you think you've seen an example? LM has a general problem with some LH subsidiaries, like LH cityline flights in Europe...they just don't show up, never have, probably never will! It's unlikely an LH block but an LM error.

Interesting - noticed that it said "proposed" in the article.

I would have thought that northern hemisphere winter is a popular time to visit Sydney given the weather.. Hopefully they will change their mind..

Though if I am not wrong 777-300 is the new flat-bed J so that's not too bad either

I have 2x F booked from bkk to syd in early Jan next year - just checked the reservation on Thai website, still showing as F booking.

Let's see when that changes to J...

Bad news if TG will cancel F to SYD but it's bound to happen sooner or later. Can't imagine they make much profit from F on this route and if the airline wasn't directly financed by the kingdom they would probably do it long time ago.
After QF cancelled F to HKG in Dec/Jan I almost booked TG F instead. Maybe I end up doing the right thing staying on the A380.

Had 777-300s with flat beds on TG665 PVG-BKK and TG473 BKK-BNE on 26/6.
Flat beds were great, service and food excellent. J cabin on both flights fairly full.

Until it's in the GDS or even until the day of travel nothing is certain with TG at the moment. They are basically rudderless with no strategic direction at all, they may even make QF's strategy look good! Going to be some annoyed people on the Brussels route as well, not sure how they will deal with the premium economy and business bookings all in the one cabin.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Noooo...won't affect my TG F flights in 2 weeks but will affect ability to book TG F in future:(

Nooooooooooooooooo.... This has been my bread and butter staple route to service many European jaunts for years now. Might have to pay a bit more now for two separate award tix on EY via AA. Truly first world problems though.

Thai Airways abandons first class to Australia, downsizes Sydney flights - Flights | hotels | frequent flyer | business class - Australian Business Traveller

Looks like they are removing F from BKK to SYD altogether

Anyone know whether my 2x F in Jan 14 booked via LM will get downgraded automatically?

I don't want to risk being denied boarding on that day so is it worth cancelling the bookings and rebook them in J?

Jan 15...yes, you'll be downgraded to J. Shouldn't be any issues, you'll simply need to get LM to reissue your ticket. If you have an onward connection in F, hopefully LM think nothing of the mixed class itinerary, they have been known to complain about it in these situations which is ridiculous! If there isn't enough space in J you may be moved to another TG flight or day.

As for getting any sort of miles refund, who knows, LM will probably want you to cancel and rebook for that.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Thanks bcworld. I am connecting from HKG to BKK on F so let's see whether LM will downgrade me to J on that leg too. There isn't any J award available on that day so I am hoping that will not cause any issues...

Fingers crossed they fly the 773 with fully flat J...

Bummer , In a similar situation , although no connections.

Therefore, I need to contact Lifemiles to reticulate in business and likely to not get difference in points. Is this an accurate picture? Not likely that Thai would reroute via Singapore and put me in an SIN A380 suite?? lol
