The US DM successful bookings thread is always popular and with the random availability Life Miles sometimes throws up I thought it would be useful to have a thread listing those itineraries that can actually be booked and ticketed to give people an idea of what is and isn't possible (and what is phantom!)

Given the first post and purpose of this thread - I thought I would just highlight that if you are booking a mixed class itinerary it would be worth reading my posts 6115 and 6123 in the Lifemiles Discussion thread so you don't end up booking J, and then sitting in Y, near the loos, for the whole trip!

I booked LIS - MXP - BKK - MEL for 2 people in J for July 2016 on TAP and Thai when Avianca had their pre Xmas bonus deal going. Took a bit of effort to screen print availability of individual segments for the Life Miles support desk so they would classify the award as Australia to Europe for 78k points per person. OW Tickets worked out at about $3200 plus $200 AUD taxes.
avianca Life Miles certainly worth a look when they run a bonus points offer.

First ever Lifemiles bookings:

NH880 then NH841 J SYD- xHND- SIN

Default cost is 40,000 points and $USD71 tax and $USD25 booking fee but i bought did the miles and cash option so it ended up 24,000 points and co payment of $USD240 plus $USD71 tax and $USD25 booking fee. All done through the Lifemiles website an hour ago. Got the booking reference and went to ANA website and logged in to bag seat 1H for both legs. No idea if this is a good seat as seatguru's maps didnt match the ANA ones(which were very confusing!) Very excited to try ANA in January 2017 and benchmark it against JAL which i currently rate as the best airline.

Is the NH flight operated by a 787? The seat maps are here for the 788 and 789:

https://www.ana.co.jp/wws/au/e/asw_common/departure/inflight/seatmap/detail.html?c=b787_9

I'm not sure there's a 1H on either model... but generally I'd avoid the front rows in a business class cabin when the galley and/or WC are located very close. Choose something mid cabin for more peace and quiet.

Pretty sweet redemption :) I wonder if I can get to BKK that way, would be preferable to TG!

MEL_Traveller I switched to the second row on the first leg as it is a night flight for my above redemption.

Another successful redemption:

SQ212 then SQ118 J SYD- xSIN- KUL

Default cost is 40,000 points and $USD64.35 tax and $USD25 booking fee but i did the miles and cash option so it ended up 24,000 points and co payment of $USD240 plus $USD64.35 tax and $USD25 booking fee. All done through the Lifemiles website an hour ago. Got the booking reference but when i go to the SQ website to select the seat it says it was done with a partner airline so i was unable to. Will this require a phonecall? Please reply on discussion thread.

Thanks.

You should be able to select seats on the SQ site even for partner redemptions. Try the mobile site if you can't get the regular one to work. Otherwise you might have to call SQ.

(I'd still be wary of row 2 even. Still very close to the hustle and bustle of the galley and forward WCs. But I guess it depends how sensitive you are to any noise.)

Pele,

Cant select seats and meals from SQ website anymore, but i did that over the phone last few days.. no issue at all..

TLV-FRA-HND LH J-F with 6:15 to check out FRA.

115,000 + USD83.47

Nice redemption! I may have to do similar one later this year. Wondering if can push all the way to SYD (on NH J) using screenshots.

Booked an unorthodox one:

SIN-BOM-IST(-xx_) // IST-CPH // ARN-HKT(-xx_-xx_)

All legs in J.

54,000 miles + ~$1,000 co-payment. Pretty happy with that one!

BNE - BCN via BKK and ZRH in J, 85,000 miles. Will post in discussion thread for my trials and tribulations, but it does show the value of screenshots

Booked a simple MEL-SIN-BKK (SQ J) / BKK-MEL (TG J) for August this year. Noteworthy only because I paid using ANZ VISA first time with no issues and the e-tickets landed 4 minutes later!

Entered the PNR in to the SQ mobile app (you can't use the browser version for non-SQ generated PNR's) and selected seats for both the SQ and TG flights. Worked a treat.

Am hoping the BKK-MEL changes to an A350 or SQ opens up availability so I can change. Not that keen on the 777-200/300 overnight.

Burned my LM points and have only 250 left.

simple booking

SIN-MEL in july SQ J. Unfortunately it will be overnight on SQ 237's old J seats but that might be the reason why those flights are the only ones available around the dates we need... so beggars can't be choosers (#firstworldproblems)

now to have do the dreaded transfer int-dom transfer to get back to adelaide.

at least we managed to find tickets with QFF to go ADL-MEL-SIN QF all the way so that is much more tolerable... the mel-sin is in business suite as well so that'll be fun!
