Australian state border restrictions

South Australian authorities impose level 6 COVID-19 restrictions on residents returning from Victoria

In SA one will be directed to place signage on your home that indicates you are in a quarantining premises.

Yup. A doozy. Might come in handy for keeping religious types and marketers out too.

GTFU the SA CHO has blow waved her brains into space with this latest brain fart.

Seriously. And they wonder why people are flying anti-lockdown banners in the air around the country.

This is literally biblical stuff now….

It would take a brave (or very naive) person to now say Australia’s response to this virus is “proportionate”.

I have never been so ashamed of this country in my life. I cannot see anyway for us to move forward after this.

There was a brief window in which I could have visited SA and I missed. I'll be waiting a while before I can travel to SA with no COVID-test and no quarantine, but it is what it is. I'm keen to travel to SA from VIC very soon after they go back to no COVID-test and no quarantine for visitors from VIC, but that looks some weeks away at best.

Sorry to say to you but that window is gone. Victorian authorities might not be giving up on covid-zero, so no end in sight for curfews and such. Next stop 70% or 80% vaccination for any relaxations. SA might be last or second last to open State borders.

Umm… what? We’re literally marking people now? What planet am I on?

It's a ridiculous thing to demand that a private citizen use their own dwelling to be forced to display such signage.

I presume, of course, that whatever hotel visiting AFL players stay at for the rest of the season will be provided with a billboard sized version of this and required to display it?

Or perhaps a cardboard cut out of the CHO with a built in motion activated audible warning system. .
There were regimes in past decades that tried these tactics. I think I'll leave it there.

What an insult to the citizens of this nation. As you say @jakeseven7 - can it be any wonder that people are protesting in the streets? To the government it would seem that it can...

Am amazed more people aren’t properly angry about this sort of thing. Assume they will become so once vaccination rates get a bit higher.

my brother in law was due to move back here permanently - he’s 10 days out of Howard springs and has decided to turn around and go back to the U.K.! Doesn’t want to live here. I’m happy we’re getting him and his family back but my goodness.

WA will easily be the last 😉

Meanwhile I've just stepped off a completely rammed tube and life is just as it was in 2019. The West End is teeming with people and life is good.

In the last couple of days, SA has reopened to QLD as a whole, as well as to the 11 SEQ LGAs (Brisbane etc) - but the latter requires a COVID test on arrival and a negative result before going out and about (then more precautionary tests if staying longer than 5 days). Better than the hard border!

If people must know the freight companies and AP in particular have been asking for this for months Australia wide and I don’t agree with it but people above my pay scale have requested it.
There have been several instances weekly in each state that I’m aware of where the postie has been greeted at the door my the occupants. That sign gives authority for all parcels to be left at the front door and absolves the companies of any blame if items are stolen

Interesting. I find myself disagreeing with the apparent majority on this one. I've had to self isolate at home multiple times and I can't see a problem with a sign stating this.
Obviously, the devil is in the detail and I'd object to such a sign at the property entrance. On the front door, what's the issue? If you're in self isolation, no visitors are allowed and an official looking sign saves you opening the door in full PPE and explaining the situation.

Welcome to the UK for the last 18 months, mate.

Interesting applying for my Tassie visa today.I am due to return next Sunday.Told by the local health region that I must apply for an essential traveller pass 7 days before arrival. So I did.Boy have they made it more difficult.Had to put down where I stayed every night for the last 14 days including postcodes.Found out Hayman Island doesn't have one so used Airlie beach again.
Sent it off about 1215.
1742 and I get a SMS message - application successful. But a little later when I went to my emails there is an email at 1747 saying -Application unsuccessful.Caused a bit of consternation. But whilst I am figuring out what to do I get another email. The reason for your application being unsuccessful is you have only been in a low risk area so you don't need a G2G pass just a Tas E travel pass done 24 hours before you arrive.

Boy has the world become a silly place.

The nasty twist in that scenario is that the E-travel pass can only be applied for, 24 hours before travelling. For someone living in Tasmania, but working interstate, this means you leave home with no guarantee of being able to return.
They refuse to grant a G2G pass if you have only been in a low risk area, as per your experience. My feeling is that they should grant a G2G pass to any eligible essential traveller who's prepared to go to the the trouble of applying. When I leave home to do work interstate, I need some assurance that I'm going to be allowed to come home. Not find myself in a hotel room, with a flight the next morning, and my E-travel application rejected because somewhere I've been has been re-classified.

According to everyone but AP (the corporation not the politician) it's 4801. You'll probably get deported for a false declaration now

Cheers skip
