But the page I linked to is for the new rules, the top of page specifies:

From 1am AEST Monday 13 December 2021, Queensland’s border restrictions will ease further, following Queensland achieving 80% of the eligible population fully vaccinated.

Arriving into Queensland from a hotspot

Restrictions at 80% fully vaccinated

If you have been in a declared hotspot in the past 14 days you may travel to Queensland provided you:

  • are fully vaccinated
  • have a negative COVID-19 test taken within the 72 hours prior to arrival into Queensland.
You may arrive by air or road.

There is no quarantine required if you meet these criteria.

If you do not meet these criteria, you will need to meet the relevant requirements for entry and will be required to undertake a period of quarantine in a government-nominated facility.

No mention of day 5 test, except by Anna at the presser.

That's just the website. They'll put out an actual health order closer to the date.

Hopefully on17th Dec test sites will be overwhelmed by those who arrived on 13th and they will remove the silly rule before Christmas.

Need to know what the penalty is for not getting a 5 day test? Can they enforce it if there is no where t get a test within a certain distance? If the fine is $100 that is cheaper than the $180 120km round trip to Cairns and back.

Why cant we just do a supermarket RAT test?

People returning to SA from regional NSW like +1 and I will be between Christmas and New Year might find it difficult to find somewhere to get a test within 72 hours before arrival.
IMHO for double vaxed people we should be able to to get tested on arrival.

Missed my post above by mere seconds.
Cricket has been taken away from WA.
Yes was aware of that but that’s the last test. He’s trying to grab Adelaide’s test. Marshall did have the last laugh at that and congratulated Tasmania on hosting it.

I agree you shouldn't need to get a test at all, but you will have a better chance getting a test in NSW than elsewhere.

Tassie came out today and said no change calm down everyone! Amazing…

As Pushka said, that would be about the cricket. Otherwise, in general, I'd say meh ... wait till there's an actual case and everyone will dive for the doona. Our CHO hasn't had much of a chance to 'shine' and lock everyone down and I reckon he's just itching to show he's just as tough as his interstate colleagues.

And I wonder if the 'DeltaShield' will survive the OMG Omicron Onslaught (TM) - as in ... all bets off.

They are actually banned in SA. But I bought some from Chemist Warehouse online. They are stashed away. It’s all about control.

Even in Brisbane there's not many places open on a Sunday.

And the number of people needing tests in the tourist areas is going to completely overwhelm the local infrastructure. This is a state that is barely doing 10K tests a day.
Same issue as last year with Northern Beaches lockdown. I made it to QLD ahead of border closures. Then QLD announced anyone who’d been in Sydney between certain dates needed to test and isolate pending result.

I was on Sunshine Coast and could only test with GP referral or symptomatic. Nearest drop in testing was Gold Coast hospital with several hours of wait times.

This year - my Day 5, 6 and 7 are all public holidays and Day 4 is Xmas Eve so stuff that!

Set time frames make it very difficult. I recently cancelled a NSW regional job, simply because I had no confidence of being able to get a test in the 48 hours that the site rules required. The job was on a Monday and I was travelling in regional areas all the weekend previous.
I'll re-book it in the New Year, book flights directly there, get a booked path lab test done in Tasmania and invoice for the whole lot. Alternatively, we've just lost a client!

I’d like to know the penalty too. It’s got to be cheaper than a boat from Wilson Island to Heron Island, then the chopper to Gladstone!

Well, I just applied for a Qld Travel Declaration Pass and a WA G2G. Both granted pretty much instantly.

Process for Qld pass was much simpler than for WA G2G, but neither were onerous.

Heading PER-BNE tomorrow evening, then to LRE on Wednesday to visit the QF museum. Back to PER on Friday afternoon.

First time out of WA since January 2020. It will feel like stepping over the edge of the world. :p

But... what will Mad Marko and Antsy Annastacia do in that time, I wonder.:oops:

Those would be the old new rules, looks like straight out of the one pager from October. Unfortunately the website always gets updated a minumum six hours after the presser.

Edit: Yep, here it is. And, yes the links go round in a circle and say nothing between them.
Cheers skip

I'm planning on flying back into Qld on Sunday afternoon from Adelaide. Double jabbed. Home quarantine on arrival, no problems. Can anyone confirm that as of 1am Monday I'll no longer need to home quarantine? It seems logical to me but this is AP that we're talking about here. Otherwise I'll just fly back Monday, I certainly don't want to be stuck in home quarantine on Christmas Day for the second year in a row.

Who is going to stop you regardless…. I don’t think you need to stress…. Queensland’s going to be pretty quickly swamped with people from all over.

Crossing the border eradicates the virus, cast the QLD spell and go from high risk to low risk, but still not as low risk as others who are there with you because of where they are returning to afterwards, and once you go back... you're high risk again.

Of course those who came up with this are people way smarter than I am but I can't help but feel they are so smart they are in a different dimension, hence my lack of comprehension.

I need help please!

I am QLD resident flying to UK soon. I return 7Jan into Sydney with 1 night booked at Rydges at the airport. The next day Sat 8 Jan I have a domestic flight booked SYD - BNE. I know I need the neg PCR and Aus Travel Declaration to enter SYD but after that I'm at a loss.

Do I need to stay 3 days in Syd or am I able to class the arrival in Syd as a transit and then fly to QLD the next day? (no flights same day and also on a different ticket). I can't find transit info on NSW info sites.

What do I need to fill out to enter QLD, a QLD travel declaration? Or is there an international arrival via transit different form?

As an international arrival i know i will need to quarantine. Has it been made clear yet if home quarantine is allowed in a house with others not quarantining? I have own entrance and bathroom and could add a bar fridge, kettle, microwave etc to self contained area but its still part of the house, just with closed doors.
It's not an option for the rest of the people in the house to isolate with me.
Can I hire a caravan and park it at my house?
I know I could just stay 14 days in NSW but it would be expensive in school holidays and I'd like to get back for my teenagers.

I know things are changing so quickly but I leave in 2.5 weeks and would love to have some idea before I leave about what I need to apply for/organise.

Thanks if you made it this far!
I will be ringing QLD Health too for info but thought more likely to get good info here!

The main thing to think about is, what is right today, may not be correct in 4 weeks time. Best to re-assess closer to the time I'm afraid.
