Australian state border restrictions

I think the RAT will be a large part of life going forward - all states are rolling it out in some form. I think Australia has been very slow to the party on that front. PCR testing is too coughbersome / expense for "life with covid"

In the UK school students, work places, truck drivers even large events have all been doing RAT for some time.
I'm not so sure. I think RATs might be self-funded tools unless mandated in some circumstances/settings eg all schools. I think Government resources and money have topped out.

To be honest, WA remote and indigenous is a big concern.....once its open up and anyone can travel near to those communities......a big disaster could happen.
It's a big concern but it's also one that's really easily managed. There's a lot of empty space in outback WA. Realistically, there are few places on the planet so well designed for isolation of areas. If we stop being brainwashed by State borders, the country could be divided up much more conveniently for quarantine purposes.

A lot of indigenous communities require permits for entry too.

Say WA went with 6 weeks - it would give someone time to literally goes to these communities with jab in the cooler bag or whatever and literally offer it on the spot. Unfortunately both governments will entirely screw up this opportunity and the gap will remain. and they will point fingers at each other.

Great to know some things won't change from pre-covid.

You seem to be under the impression that this has not happened already.

Let alone how to spell A Z
I may be reading the chart wrong. But in today's daily update by the Commonwealth Dept of Health I read the Table of "Jurisdiction administered" doses as showing that W.A in its own centres has administered proportionally more AZ than Qsld, about the same as S.A., ACT and the NT. And certainly far more than NSW. So I don't really understand this comment.

WA and Qld both have similar percentages of first and second dose, and both appear to be currently trailing in the "vaccine rollout race". I believe there is no data as to AZ usage in GPs and pharmacies in WA. You are right to note the AZ usage is quite reasonable in WA state hubs.

I'm sure by now you realise that the quips against WA Health is a by-product of the anti-WA Government trend emerging on these threads on WA Government's covid-zero poilcy, state border policy and apparent public hospital preparedness to deal with a future covid situation amongst other things. Some quips might be based in facts, others quips might not be.

Not sure of this one? If you're suggesting sending most of our politicians into the desert, I'm with you! My only concern is whether this is fair on the critters that already live there?

I’d settle for every single one of of our state leaders being sent there without any form of communication for about 6 months. Thought I’d share this cartoon for a Saturday morning laugh. Pity it’s missing that droning hypochondriac from the ACT and the creepy weird one from Tassie.

I saw a snippet of two sisters complaining about the Qld-NSW border restriction holding hands across the border - may be on Sunrise??? - and during the segment in the background, people were jumping the "fence" 😅

That video was really sad, the sister that was in NSW (both were QLD residents) was clearly mentally ill and was physically shaking and couldn't answer simple questions.

It was explained the reason she couldn't jump the fence is that her car was in NSW and she had been photographed, so assume she'd get busted if she tried to cross.

That part might be sad - but we are back or soon will be back into the "find the 'loophole' best suited to you" world - dog eat dog, every person for themselves. Rich get everything, the disadvantaged well....

Unfortunately if she isn't a WAG she won't be getting in easily.
