From the data tables all 4 are yet to be linked. However cases are often linked by the time of the presser.

With the double donuts, I think it was overshadowed that Regional Vic got back down to zero new cases in the last 14 days.

The original modelling had zero cases in the last 14 days across Victoria to enable Melbourne to move to the Last step on November 23.

Then after that, if there are no new cases for 28 days, no active cases and "no outbreaks of concern" in other states and territories, restrictions will be relaxed further to Covid normal.

Well this is good news.

From what we have seen over the last week or so it seems that the sheer volume of ongoing testing in Vic at present is picking up people who caught CV19 some time back who then get tested now, and have low levels of virus, but who are not contagious.

Daily tests volumes are remaining high despite the easing of restrictions.

Dr Young doing a presser

QLD remains closed to 32 LGA's (so basically Greater Sydney) which she has classified as still being a hotspot, because she says NSW still struggling to contain the virus to her satisfaction. Says NSW is doing their absolute best but they have not got there and hence QLD will remain shut to Greater Sydney.

Excellent logical and understandably cautious decision made in the best interests of QLD's , well done Dr Young

So double standards. OK to have Regional NSW open, but not Regional Vic.?

Yep, since it seems Regional Vic hasn’t had a mystery case in over 28 days (as best as can be recalled), then definitely double standards to not allowing Regional Vic to go to Qld without quarantine.

Nsw mystery case watch

Today’s reports indicate:
- 4 in the past 7 days
- 0 in the period 8-14 days
- 3 in the period 15-28 days
- 31 older than 28 days but since before Crossroads emerged.

NSW health have inconsistent reports. Two are indicating 4 mystery cases today (even though from same household). The third report recording a +1 mystery case.

Terrific timing to see how Qld chooses to backflip or not

NSW Health seemed to have now settled on reporting 1 mystery case for yesterday‘s new cases.

If this is true, then Greater Sydney will almost be certainly locked out of QLD for Christmas (because QLD only meet monthly to make decisions).

Technically the only hope for Sydney to get the virus under control at an acceptable level is to have zero mystery cases from 1/2 Nov (not knowing exactly when QLD start their border clock)

According to the Qld CHO-declared Qld border clock, less than 7 hours to find that link.

I actually hope this happens as it will prove the point that Queensland's rules are unsustainable and it's high time that accountability is sheeted home to those who make the decisions.

Sorry families.

So WA opening to everyone except NSW and Vic from 14 November. My hairdresser will be ecstatic as her daughter is over there studying. Now she will be able to come home for Christmas and they will be able to go over for her 21st. :). Assuming ACT stays virus free of course.

She better hightail it back there because its very very easy for a state to suddenly be blacklisted again from WA according to their 28 day rule....

That is going to be the stinger.... you either book absolute last minute or fully flexible everything....?!

Nope illogical and definitely not the best interests of Qld tourism industry.

My NSW LGA hasnt had a case of Covid-19 since March 2019 (and that was a returned traveller with an overseas acquired case pre hotel quarantine intorduction) and no community spread ever yet its unsafe for me to visit Queensland according to Dr Young.

Byron Bay in the Qld safe zone but had cases more recently (last one in August) than my inner Sydney suburb, and any NSW Resident can go to Byron (or any border or regional NSW town) readily - so this double standard isnt keeping Queenslanders safe, as any Queenslander visiting regional NSW will be definitely be mixing with people from the Queensland declared Sydney hotspots. Byron and Kingscliff are more popular than ever with greater Sydney residents right now as its as far north as you can go.

Further there hasnt been a single confirmed case of a NSW resident bringing Covid-19 into Queensland ever. Queensland residents brought it into Queensland from Ruby Princess and the 3 girls who lied about being in Melbourne (and only changed planes in Sydney), and a Queensland couple who dined at the Apollo restaurant in Sydney are the only reports Ive seen. During the 2 weeks the borders reopended no NSW covid positive resident went to Queensland and started an outbreak.

AP and Dr JY must have serious doubts about the abilty of Queensland Health to manage any small outbreak, to be so fearful of opening to NSW when there have been a handful of cases in a handful of Western Sydney and South Western Sydney suburbs - places the majority of the people currenly flagged as a hotpsot wouldnt ever have a need to visit.

With this impossibly high bar, Im resigned to never being able to visit Queensland or WA again in my life time, other places will get my tourism spend.

Apparently a quarantine breach in NSW

A NSW police officer went to visit a quarantining traveller in hotel quarantine. The traveller was a famous ethnic actor. The police officer was of the same ethnicity and a fan. The police officer is now in quarantine- I’m guessing another hotel. There is also an internal investigation

The traveller was a famous ethnic actor

I hope that actor is an Australian permanent resident or citizen, if not there will be more people angry at yet another exemption being made for a celebrity, when there are still so many Aussies waiting to come home.
