NSW so close, then a health alert is required....

NSW Health is alerting the public to the following locations in Western and South Western Sydney and the South Coast visited by a person who tested positive for COVID-19 today. We are also warning people who may have taken taxis in Western and South Western Sydney to be alert for symptoms.

Anyone who attended the following venues for a least one hour during the following times is considered to be a close contact and is being directed to get tested and isolate for 14 days. They must stay isolated for the entire period, even if a negative test result is received:

Campbelltown Golf Club, Glen Alpine– 16 September, 2pm-4.30pm in the TAB area
Milton Ulladulla Ex Servos Club – 12 September, 2pm-6.15pm
Carlo’s Italian Restaurante Bar & Seafood, Ulladulla – 12 September, 8pm-9.30pm
Bannisters Pavilion Rooftop Bar & Grill, Mollymook – 13 September, 12.30pm-2.15pm
Anyone who attended the above venues at these times for less than one hour is considered a casual contact.

Anyone who attended the following venues at the specified times below is also considered a casual contact. Casual contacts must monitor for symptoms and get tested immediately if they develop symptoms. After testing, they must remain in isolation until a negative test result is received:

Picnic Point Bowling Club – 18 September, 3pm-6pm
Campbelltown Golf Club course Glen Alpine– 16 September,9.30am-2pm
Early investigations into the source of infection indicate the case may have acquired the virus at Liverpool Hospital. Contact tracing is underway. The person reports having the COVIDSafe App, which is being used to help identify contacts.

The person also drove a taxi for a number of days while potentially infectious. People who caught a taxi on September 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 in the following suburbs must monitor for symptoms and if any develop immediately get tested:

Moorebank
Bankstown
Chipping Norton
Liverpool
Lidcombe
Warwick Farm
Milperra

NSW Health is working with the person and 13CABS to identify passengers. NSW Health reminds people when taking taxis or rideshare to sit in the back and wear a mask.

This will definitely spawn a few cases unfortunately but that’s ok that’s part of the plan, we have to live along side this virus.

Unfortunately I think you may be right. The taxi driver has super-spreader potential. NSW government seems fairly confident about living with the virus. Unfortunately Dear Leader, Dr Young and AP, Mark McGowan, etc. don't share this confidence.

They did.....and also on Twitter, which you don’t follow.

Agree. I later checked SA health that updates at 5.30pm. Over it by then. Which is why the media doesn't bother anymore. They've gone home for the day apparently 😀

Sadly many Australians refuse to accept that reality - probably because we were too successful, even in Victoria (back in May.)

Because 3 state premiers/first minister in particular have weaponised the pandemic into election campaigns and have purposefully and brilliantly whipped their states into a state of fear so high that people think is is ok to turn their back on vulnerable Australians stuck overseas, interstate and seem to tolerate all the tragic stories we’ve seen domestically almost every day... :( I do see the tide turning though with glimmers of hope appearing with recent backflips.

The last several days have gone very well, so much so that Vic now looks on track to be approaching zero new daily cases by the end of Sept.

Melbourne has also gone well enough, with positive good enough, to earn going to next step a bit earlier. No doubt we will see more bouncing now as with numbers now this slow small clusters can affect the daily number quite greatly.

Update on Vic graphs.

And new cases per day:

Given VIC's circumstances great news and really hope the numbers keep going this way.

Recently noticed the app has national numbers and confirmed cases itemised by state/territory. Of course, the numbers for VIC look downright ghastly compared to everywhere else 😥

For those that like chasing numbers, including these stats is a good way to subtly encourage opening the app and thus increase its chances of working.
