Hi there I am travelling overseas in June and just had a look at my passport and realised that a piece of the green stitch towards the back has come loose, do I need to replace my passport?

If it was me, I would. Not only might a country or two take exception but further stitching might give way before long.

Get out the needle and thread… and cue the music:

Question here too ...

Departing Sydney in June 24 for Paris. Stay only 10 days.

Australian Passport expires in November 24 ( after 10 years ).

Will I need a new one BEFORE departure ?

Anyone applied for a new Aussie passport lately? Do you still submit a paper photo? Someone told me the Post Office needs to take the photo and submit digitally, as is the application.

New or renewal?
I did a renewal fully on line.

My family and I will travel overseas in December and return to Australia mid January. We are all dual Australian/UK citizens and hold both passports. My child's Australian passport will expire approximately 3 weeks after the date on which we are scheduled to return to Australia. Do you believe this will be an issue for Border Force?

No issues, you don’t even need a passport to come back in if you don’t mind an extensive discussion at the border ;)

Maybe an issue with the airline, the default view for some is need the 6 month minimum validity. A discussion or phone call will sort it but but best to be prepared for this at check in

OP (and family) have valid UK PPs that they can leave UK/Europe with. So shouldn’t be an issue. At least having the expired Oz PP should make the ABF discussion a bit more straightforward.

Unlike another AFF’r who recently couldn’t find their Oz PP whilst onboard their flight home (had similarly boarded using a UK PP)!
